Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. My room 414 was next to a door leading into the theatre, which was quite bizarre, and the windows looked onto an enclosed courtyard, which made it a little dark. The room was clean but somewhat basic with limited floor space and nowhere to put a suitcase. Still, the bed was very comfortable and the en suite shower was very good. Fabulous old lift, though not great if the hotel is busy as it only takes 2 people - and it's the only lift. Good coffee at breakfast - much appreciated.

Expensive price for a small room with a single bed with no view from the window...also poor breakfast....still you get a card to use free public transportation in Bern and the location is great and also the reception's stuff

the hotel it is pretty close to the train station and the center of the city, good service and rooms, unfortunatly the restaurant was close while i was there.
nice old style hotel.
Didn't like a lot the fact that the windows of the room were somehow connected to a common space.

We have just spent a lovely 3 days in Bern with 2 nights in this hotel, it was nice for a short stay. The ensuite room had everything we needed, was very clean and very comfortable. Continental breakfast was standard but good. We ate in the restaurant on the Friday evening, we both ordered Entrecote Steak Cafe de Paris which was excellent. Whilst the restaurant does not open on Saturday or Sunday, if you leave the hotel and turn right you can find restaurants and bars a short walk down the street (Namaste is good if you like Indian food).

The location is great, with a tram stop opposite (we went to the Museum of Communication from there) and there is a bus stop in a nearby side street for the bus which takes you to the Bear Gardens and Zentrum Paul Klee.

I would honestly say the staff are an asset to this hotel, very polite and helpful. When we checked out we were able to leave our bags in one of the reception area lockers as we wanted to go out for a few hours before catching a train back to Basel. We would be happy to stay here again if we have another short break in Bern. The building has an interesting history and we loved the old lift too.

The lady on the reception is one of the most unfriendly person i ve ever met .

She will be constantly checking on you, we felt we are in prison not hotel. On top of that lady is NOT LGBTQ friendly

Hotel is very old school, you can get far more better service in different hotel for same money in Bern.

Came for a congress and the hotel was recommended by the PCO.

Good location, but very noisy and warm. Standard well below average, and quite worn down. Nice bathroom. Breakfast is ok and service good.

Would recommend to look for something else in this price range if staying in Bern.

Great little hotel. Next to railway station and only few minutes into the middle of the Old Town.
Clean rooms and quaint old-fashioned elevator; unfortunately did not go to the top floor.
Good breakfast and reasonable choice.

Good hotel in a very central location. Close to train station and very handy for the city centre and Old Town. Helpful staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was ok but limited choice at times.
