I had an excellent stay at Marthahaus. You get all the information you need when you arrive at the reception. The room is very quiet, the bed is very comfortable. The place is well located very close from bus and tram stops but also not far from the city centre by foot. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The only minor...

This hotel thinks of everything, although a little bit out of the main part of town it is very to multiple public transport options (and a complimentary tickets is provided by the hotel for the duration of your stay). Breakfast is good and tea/coffee/hotel chocolate is available for free 24/7. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable and give you lots of...

Simple but nice and clean place to stay in Bern. Highly recommended ! I have been vistinf this place for several years now, and quality remains the same. It looks much more to a "pensione" than an hotel.

A five-star youth hostel! Very friendly staff. Clean and well kept rooms. We were able to cook in the guest kitchen. Free tea, coffee & fruits. It is just two bus stops away from the train station. I think the prices are good. I highly recommend this place.

A simple wooden bed and wooden floors, big windows, a fluffy duvet cover, white walls: simple, clean, with a very warm welcome. I would definitely recommend. By Swiss standards, also very affordable. Location is just over the bridge from the main station––a short walk or two tram stops.

Stayed at Marthahaus early in October on a whirlwind European tour. What a clean and serene stay. Everything about this hotel is organized, bright and calm. Staff very efficient and accommodating; rooms pristine; breakfast plentiful. The neighbourhood is quiet and yet you are close enough to get good public transit anywhere you'd like to go. Also close to a lovely...

stopped visiting because of the conference. Of course prices in Bern bite and this hotel was a good budget option. Breakfast is quite decent for a two star room is small but clean. As the old house, the floor creaks and poor insulation. In the basement is a common kitchen with refrigerator and utensils.

Hotel is operated by a charity so the money goes to a good cause. It is located in a residential area about 10-15 minute walk to the old town. 160Euro for a twin with a private bath. Operates as a hostel and many rooms share a bathroom. 10 Euro to park. No street parking available so pay if you drive....

We visited this hotel mid-September 2016
It is a simple building that felt like an old dormitory and perfect for a good night’s sleep. We walked from the train station (15-20 minutes) and also walked down into the historic section of Bern every day. If necessary, public transportation is just down the road. English speaking staff is very informative and...

Hotel Marthahaus was the perfect place to stay for me. My room (with private bath) was quite spacious, very clean and light. Since the hotel is located in a small street it is very quiet. Coffee and tea is provided at any time and there is a kitchen that can be used by the guests. Into the city center you...
