We stayed here with a Viking cruise. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is helpful and very friendly.
The location is a 45 min walk to the areas we were interested in or a short Uber ride. There is a CoOp within a 5 min walk. Great grocery store with plenty of options.

The rooms are standard for what you would expect with Intercontinental rooms. We did ask to have our room location changed because of the construction outside the window, we were not able to take a nap after a long bus travel morning. The noise was loud and I could not sleep. We were moved to a room on the other side of the hotel on a lower floor and without a view of the lake but at least I did not have the noise to keep me awake.

Our friends were moved to a suite but when I questioned the category we were in, I was told that it was a mistake that both of their rooms were upgraded to suites free of charge and we would not be able to receive a suite. We were all traveling together, so I did not understand that situation but did not question the reception person.

We are returning to this same hotel in a few days so I hope we have a better experience with our room.

Everything about our stays on two occasions these past two weeks was outstanding.
From checkin to checkout and everything in between was such a pleasant experience.
All hotel personnel were friendly, courteous and extremely helpful.
Highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in Geneva on the weekend of August and chose this international hotel also because we needed to have the car available (and in some hotels in central Geneva it can be complex). The choice turned out to be fantastic: they proposed a reasonable upgrade to a room with a lake view, from which we could enjoy Friday and Saturday evening the beautiful party on the lake with fireworks and moving lights over the water. Very kind staff, breakfast treated in every single detail and very tasty, cozy room. Free public transport ticket to the city centre for hotel guests for the duration of their stay. Plus, the gem of the Intercontinental: the beautiful swimming pool! You would never say, in the lush vegetation that surrounds it, to be a short distance from the city center! Celebrities from politics to entertainment have stayed at the hotel over the years, also due to its proximity to the UN and other international bodies. Don't miss this fantastic stay!

A beautiful, elegant hotel, impeccably decorated. Staffed by professional, courteous and helpful workers. We were automatically upgraded to a suite, which was VERY roomy and comfortable. There is a great pool and deck, which came in handy during the heat wave that occurred during our stay. There's a gym, conference rooms and restaurant. Breakfast could be had (which we didn't) for an exorbitant 40 Swiss Francs per person, but I suppose that this goes with the territory and the presumed great variety of selections. There's a bus about a half block away that gets you into center of town in about 10-15 minutes.

This hotel was chosen by the cruise line and met our needs for 2 nights. However, it is not near the city centre. The bus was close by and the transportation system in Geneva is safe and easy to use. There were a couple of restaurants nearby that served good food at a reasonable price. The room was clean, bright and spacious and served our needs but nothing stands our as memorable. The hotel served a buffet breakfast with lots of choice but the quality of the food led something to be desired. If you like a "chain hotel" experience than this hotel is for you.

I am a loyalty card holder for this hotel group and have stayed at many of their hotels.

The first thing to say is I realise the pressure that COVID 19 has caused.

Secondly the pool area and the staff at the pool led by Yousef and supported by Angola, Christof and Sarah helped to stop our visit being a disaster. They could not have worked harder or done more for us.

I believe the issues with this hotel lies with senior management. I rang the hotel before we arrived to advise of our late check in at 9.30pm and was told we would be able to get a meal on arrival. When we arrived we were advised that there was no food available and that if we wanted to eat we could leave the hotel and head for the City centre. This was a 20 minute walk away. So we went hungry.

The next day, Saturday, we visited Lake Geneva which was beautiful. When we got back to the hotel we decided to have lunch by the swimming pool and use the sun beds in the pool area. When we got the pool we were surprised how busy it was as the hotel was nowhere near full occupancy. We were told there were no sun beds available as all the non residents had taken all the beds. We were also told that we would have to wait an hour to eat at the bar restaurant due to it being booked up with non residents.

Luckily at this point Yousef and Christoff jumped in and saved the day.

Unfortunately they could not help when we finally sat down to eat our meal and the food was if a very poor standard.

We then decided to eat that evening in the hotel premier restaurant Woods, only to be advised it was closed on a Saturday and Sunday evening.

At this time I asked to see the manager, only to be told there was no management on site as they were on a day off.

By this time my wife and I started laughing as we could not see how things could get any worse.

It is clear the management team are not interested in their customers and prefer the local residents to use the hotel facilities.

As I say I do not blame the front facing staff in any way as they were trying their best in difficult circumstances. However I do blame the faceless management team who clearly lack the skills to run a five star hotel both in communication and empathy to their customers and the burden they put on their lovely staff.

I would advise to stay away from this hotel until they sort these issues out.

We’ve been regular guests to Intercontinental Geneva over the last few years, whenever we traveled back to Geneva during winter or summer holidays. Apart from its location, i found the quality of service very good if not excellent. Now, during our most recent visit we were extremely disappointed with the very same feature that made us regular visitors: service.
1. At our arrival, there was no doorman to help with luggages (they used to have at least 2-3 any time of the day). We waited for the only desk/reception lady to finish off another guest checkout (10 minutes) to eventually have our luggages taken care of (with a helping hand from the taxi driver!).
2. We were literally harassed by the housekeeping staff daily. We would receive daily calls (one day we had two calls) asking us when we would leave the room. This, while the “do not disturb” sign was displayed on our room door (not to mention the usual papers they would sneak under the door).
3. We were two guests in the family suite but housekeepers would leave only one bottle of water, and more surprisingly, only one glass. I did mention it to the desk staff, they improved the same day, but we got one bottle and one glass the next one. Also, they would not top up the coffee machine.
During previous stays, we would generally get a fruit platter. None was provided this time around. And i won’t mention the fact that the main bar was closed. Basically, it looked as if the hotel was running with the minimum, most basic capacity and with reduced quality standards (but with the same, unchanged rates). We visited and had drinks at hotel Bergues, they seemed running business as usual.
While i can understand that the covid related closure and reopening is a challenge, i still believe that for a hotel of this category and reputation, they have to live up to their reputation, at least when it comes to the quality of service.
We decided not to return to this hotel anymore.

Very enjoyable stay at this hotel. Arrived early and was meant to just drop off luggage and wonder off into town but was pleasantly surprised when the room was ready and provided straight away! Fantastic service by Yann at the check-in desk; just the right amount of friendliness and professionalism!! Very nice start to the stay. The room was comfortable on the 12th floor with good amenities (loved the Nespresso coffee maker). Luxurious bath robes and towels. Usual amenities like safe, minibar, etc.

The Concierge (I think his name is Nicholas) was absolutely top notch! Very knowledgeable and full of great information.

Snacks at the bar of good quality and the cocktails were also great. Breakfast was superb with incredible choices and an a la Carte option as well.

Dinner at the Woods restaurant was very nice with very tasty meals and fantastic staff; attentive yet unobtrusive.

Did not have the opportunity to utilise the spa services but ….,

The only downside was that the aircon was not very effective but was not a deal-breaker.

Planning to stay when next in Geneva

Had to stay for one night to the hotel to be close to the airport. Very convenient for one night stay. The room was spacious as it was the clasic room and the view was very nice i could see the city and the lake but they are a bit old a renovation is needed and the bed was not so comfortable. Although i was in the 15 floor i could hear a lot of noice from the road and the blinds are not automatic you have to do it by yourself. The room service menu was very good many and nice options there.
Staff were very polite.
Had dinner to the bar, had one of the most tasty entrecote steaks i've ever had.
Overall a good one night stay.

We were celebrating my Wife's birthday and were greeted by Lobna on reception (I may have spelt this name incorrectly, I apologise), Lobna was aware that we were celebrating and congratulated my wife. She upgraded our room to a huge corner suite which had amazing views over the lake and the city with dual aspect windows, fantastic! The suite also had an amazing bathroom and facilities.
Lobna escorted us to our suite explaining the whole hotel and facilities. She also delivered to our room a pass to use on the travel network in Geneva.
We went for a short walk and on our return found a cake, champagne and a personalised message, unbelievable! We were so happy.
The next morning we took breakfast which we both agreed was the best ever! We have stayed in several Intercontinental Hotels and your breakfast was definitely the best with a large selection of delicacies to choose from.
Lobna also arranged a late check-out which was so helpful to us.

Our check-out was also smooth with Lobna's colleague, unfortunately we didn't take his name, sorry.

Overall our stay was fantastic and really made the end of our stay in Geneva fantastic.

Your hotel is fantastic however it is always the staff who make a hotel and Lobna and her colleague really made it for us so a huge thank you and we hope to see you soon!

The hotel outdoor pool is indeed heated to 27 degree but only opens from mid May to mid September. Our Sauna and Hammam is open throughout the year. Alternatively we do offer to our guests a complimentary access to the indoor pool at the Geneva Country Club. Our Concierge Team would be happy to assist you with the complimentary transfer as well.
