If you want to get a bit of a nature feel then this is a great place to stay while in Lucerne. It is located about a 5 minute walk from a small lake with plenty of walks in the area. The city centre is about a 15 minute walk and not too difficult at all. The staff are super...

Shared toilets with people we didn't know. Never been in such a small room. Do not recommend. Food was not very nice either. My friend got food pounding from the meat and pasta which had not been properly defrosted...

I'd rate this a 3.5 if I could. It's expensive for what you get, but all of Switzerland is expensive and it could be worse. There's a nice free breakfast here which is fantastic, but there is no kitchen and the wifi doesn't work in the rooms (it may work with your laptop, but it'll be slow), and the lounge...

Unlike many hostels in Switzerland, there is no transport card included when you get there, and it's about a 20 minute walk from the city centre. Transport in Lucerne is expensive so this was disappointing. There's also no wifi in the rooms. On the positive side, it had massive lockers both inside and outside the rooms and (like all Swiss...

This is a night that I will never forget. After a long, long nightly walk on the hills of Luzern (the hostel is not very central, although there is a bus that stops very close but it does not travel very often at night), I reached the structure. The personal was very friendly, and I did not have to pay...

Location is not so convenient, though it's not hard to find with the instruction. Staffs were not exactly unfriendly but they offered you the basic introduction only when asked. They didn't initiate to give me maps or point out the bus stops etc till I asked, as for an example, which I think it should be some basic introduction one...

The Youth Hostel was not bad, but there are probably better places you could stay in Lucerne. The prices are low and the free breakfast is good, but at the expense of being pretty far from the city center. Most importantly, wifi only reaches the common rooms, so if you need it, you have to sit there (where there is...

Think it must have been a giant school group in or something because the hostel was packed but the facilities were good. WiFi only in the reception area but helpful staff and comfy beds. Enjoyed my stay here. Quick bus ride in to town and pretty views when the weather is good.

It's pretty damn good. Short bus ride to center, clean and quiet no complaints really. We received a free Tell pass valid for two days that got us to all the local snow fields for free. This also include all the buses and trains and boats around Lucerne too. So saved us a lot of money. The hotel is a...

The hostel is situated near the “Dying Lion” - it takes around 20 minutes to walk to there and less than 30 minutes to walk to Lucerne Lake. It only takes 10 minutes to go from city centre by bus followed by a 5 minutes walk. Therefore, it is convenient. I stayed in a 4-bedded dormitory which was spacious enough...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Stroll down the lakeside promenade, admire the splendid guild-houses in the fabulous old town, conquer the surrounding mountain peaks, meet people from all over the world and pop back to the youth hostel now and again for a rest. Lucerne has retained a great deal of the quality of life which makes its guests feel at home. Not for nothing do people go into raptures about its gorgeous location on the lake in the middle of the mountains of central Switzerland! ... more   less
