I recently spent a week here for work. The accommodation was good, I stayed in one of the rooms built into the main wall around Solothurn. It was generally quiet except for Carnival Time :) Breakfast although quite basic was nice and I must compliment the breakfast staff each morning who always had a smile and a nice coffee waiting...

I've been visiting Solothurn frequently and the Baseltor is the best place in town for food and sleep thanks to exquisite kitchen (definitely give the bami goring a shot!), super friendly and helpful staff and superb rooms!

A very nice hotel, very well located on the edge of the old city of Solothurn. I walking distance from the train station (10-15 min). A very nice hotel, full of character (I really like the old door at the entrance). Very nice rooms and very soundproof. I had a room on the ground floor and there was a festival...

It sets out to be good and cosy then; - the noisy neighbour toilet vent starts in the middle of the night - every time you go to your room you get to look into the staff quarters because they leave the door open which is not pleasant - breakfast is overly minimalistic - some rooms can only be accessed...

I LOVE this hotel! It is super quaint with amazing service, delicious food, and HUGE rooms! I had an apartment-like room with a bedroom, separate living room, entry way, and bathroom. Such spaciousness is usually unheard of in Europe, especially in small cities!

Great independent (I think) Hotel in a great setting just up from the Cathederal. Had a room in the main gate tower. Creaky floors but full of character. Very clean, great views and very comfortable. Definitely select this over a chain hotel in the area again.

We stayed in the loft suite which is the building next to the restaurant. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an apartment loft feel where one side of a wall unit (storage, closets etc) is the bedroom and the other side is a living/dining room. There is a sleek door system that uncovers a small stove and refrigerator....

Between 2014 and 2016 I have been in this hotel multiple times for work. I am still amazed, and here is why: - Super friendly staff - Ultra clean rooms - Best price/quality in town - If you have a large or a small room, the level of service remains top! The only difference are the square meters you get....

This hotel is situated in a good location within the old portion of Solothurn. The cobblestone streets and adjacent Baseltor (gate) provide a nice backdrop for your stay. It is just a short walk to the river. There was a large street festival going on during our stay, which made the location convenient, albeit rather noisy, especially in the evenings....

nice hotel, clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly. Our room was by the gate (across the street from the hotel) and noisy when the bars closed and when the deliveries started for the Saturday morning market.
