Boutique Hotel Glacier garners praise for its impeccable cleanliness and the variety of breakfast options, not to mention the breathtaking mountain views that can be enjoyed right from the rooms and balconies. The spaciousness and comfort of the rooms, complemented by private jacuzzis, are often highlighted by guests. The staff's exceptional service and friendliness are frequently commended, contributing to the serene and relaxed atmosphere that the hotel is known for. While the hotel's value is appreciated, especially with the complimentary spa access, some guests note the dining prices as a slight drawback.

We have just returned from a family ski holiday in Grindelwald where we stayed at The Glacier Hotel for 6 nights, and we absolutely loved it. Staff are incredible, the hotel is lovely, the rooms are comfortable & the restaurant food is divine! We wanted a B&B rate (which we got) as we like to eat out in the village for evening meals, so we only booked to have dinner once during our stay, and we wished we had eaten a 2nd night there but unfortunately the restaurant was filly booked - so make sure you book in advance if you want to eat at the hotel. The dinner was exquisite, with some little extras thrown in & the breakfasts were also excellent with a delicious fresh smoothie everyday too. The housekeeping staff left us biscuits in the room each night & when we checked out, the reception kindly gave us a "Rituals Spa" goodie box which was a really lovely treat - so thank you to everyone at The Glacier - we really enjoyed it. Oh and they are very dog friendly too!

Good parking space next to the hotel. Eigerview room decorated in very warm colours, fantastic view. Nice bonus : all products in the bathroom are from Rituals.
The restaurant was a bit too special for our taste (we are difficult eaters) so we did'nt eat dinner in the hotel. Breakfast was very good, hand sanitisers on every table, tables separated by glass walls. Attention : if you want to walk to the village it is quite a steep walk. Maybe one negative point : the price is too high for what you get but we all know that Switzerland is an expensive country...

Dear BelgiumPatrick, Thank you for your remarkable review and are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the Glacier! As a boutique hotel we place great value on design and comfort. This includes selected skin care products! We are sorry that we could not meet your taste with our menu. Please note that it is in our interest to offer something special in this place. We are pleased that you appreciate our handling with Covid 19 despite the current situation we try to make our guests stay as carefree as possible. As far as our prices are concerned, we would like to emphasise that we attach great importance to a good price-quality ratio of the food, our services and the remuneration of our staff. Especially with the food we pay attention to seasonal, regional products, which of course have a value. We hope to welcome you once again to Boutique Hotel Glacier and perhaps we will convince you to try our dishes.

We stayed at the Glacier hotel on a Saturday evening. Arrived on Saturday afternoon and headed straight to the spa - it’s small but perfectly formed! Sitting outside in the outdoor jacuzzi was so lovely, watching the sunlight fade over the mountains. The hotel room is comfortable and taste fully decorated and it gives you a real boutique feel- the staff made you feel so welcome and were very personable.

There is a shuttle bus to drop you down to the gondola for skiing and enough parking should you wish to drive.

We also dined at the hotels restaurant on Saturday and again, everything was 5*. Great service, great food & wine and a lovely setting.

Would recommend to treat yourself to a night or two at the Glacier! Thank you for the hospitality!

The hotel is close to the center of Grindelwald and there is only 10-min walk from the train station. Built on a ramp facing the Eiger, it has perhaps the most fantastic view of the mountains you can see in Grindelwald. The room's design gives you a feeling that you are living in a modern hotel room rather than an alpine chalet though the appearance of the hotel building is kind of like that. You can really feel that the theme "glacier" is everywhere in your room. The tap water - according to the hotel is from galcier, is fantastic! You can definitely not imagine that it is better than any mineral water sold in any Swiss supermarket.

The restaurant offers buffet breakfast, a la carte menus during lunch time, and fine dining menus for dinner. You will definitely want to try its food! I strongly recommend that you book the dinner in advance as it is always fully booked, and go for the 7-course menu for a full taste experience.

Everything was great. A relaxed atmosphere. lovely decor and very friendly staff.

We stayed one night in room 303 on the third floor with a balcony with incredible views of the eigger. Lovely place to saty. All rooms have apple tv, marshall speakers, a big bed and very nice decoration.

We took the birthday package for my partner's birthday, which included champagne, a small cake, decoration with petals and golden balloons and the best, 90 minutes of private spa completely for ourselves, which was the best of the experience without a doubt.

As the restaurant was fully booked (we recommend to reserve a table in advance ), there’s the possibility to order a couple of cocktails and something less elaborate to eat at the bar. We loved it.

Normally the buffet breakfast is included. We, as my partner, could not go to the restaurant because the government's covid-19 regulations changed and only 2g could access the restaurants, we decided to order breakfast in the room in the morning.

This is the only thing I would not recommend about staying at this wonderful hotel. In the restaurant you can enjoy a buffet breakfast included but, in the room, apart from paying a supplement of 15.- per person, the only thing included is a croissant and a hot drink, everything else is considered extra and at very expensive prices. A pity that there is such a difference between the buffet included in the price and the breakfast that you can have in your room because everything else was perfect. One could expect to have something similar to the buffet despite the extra charge.

This was our second visit to Hotel Glacier and the friendliness of the staff add to the overall success of the hotel. The standard of the rooms has not dropped in the last 12 months and everything felt clean and hygienic.
The restaurant is so popular that we were only able to eat there once. Advance bookings are essential and worthwhile as the food is modern and delicious.

What a great discovery! Fully renovated and classy chalet hotel set just below the town towards Grund and a few minutes walk to the EigerExpress dparture.
Best rooms face the Eiger each with an individual terrace (although watch the step in the corridor at night when going to the bathroom!), although east facing rooms are well designed. Rooms have a Nespresso machine, which is great.
The lounge is comfy with uninterrupted views of the mountain through large floor to ceiling windows. A limited dinner menu is wxcellent and a full choice of “by the glass” wines available - thanks Humberto for theadvice!
A small but convenient Spa winner being an outside jacuzzi with outstanding views.
Covid restrictions were well in place and fully respected by the staff(and guests too).
Thanks to Remo and the team. A great discovery and I feel sure we will be back.

Thank you for taking the time to give us such an outstanding review. Our hotel is indeed located right between the village centre and the valley station of the new EigerExpress. From the beginning it was very important to us that rooms are stylish and cosy. For us, a good coffee is part of a good morning ritual. From the spa area, restaurant, lounge or terrace, our guests have a fantastic view of the Eiger from everywhere. You have mentioned 2 names of staff members, they are of course very happy about the positive feedback. However, we can say with a clear conscience that every employee gives their best every day to satisfy our guests. We are very grateful that our guests adhere very well to the new government rules. It is not a pleasant time for anyone, but we are very happy that we can welcome guests every day. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Glacier soon!

We stayed there in June and it was so good we returned to ski. There is nothing to complain about. The location, the rooms, the food and especially the staff were wonderful. We have only stayed in Eiger view rooms, so we can’t comment on the others. For skiing and hiking, they sold us our passes and gave us all the tips we needed to get started quickly. If their management reads this, please thank all the staff for us.

This beautiful boutique hotel is located in a quiet area in Grindelwald, but still so close to many attractions. Train station was only about 5minutes always , and the First Cliff Walk by Tissot was super close too (ticket office).
Myself and partner had stayed here for 2nights and booked the double room, but much to our surprise when we got there we got updated. Bonus! The room was lovely so spacious and mountain facing for a beautiful view. It’s definitely work booking this mountain facing rooms. Room and bathroom was very modern and very clean.

The hotel lounge area was very cosy and was surrounded by such amazing views. We also had dinner in the restaurant one night and opted for the Tomahawk steak! Absolutely delicious...The staff were also so polite and approachable. 10/10 on the staff service. So helpful and friendly.

We would highly recommend anyone wishing to visit Grindelwald to visit this lovely hotel. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We are definitely coming back to Grindelwald and will stay in the Glacier Hotel again. It's a little bit of a climb up and down (steep not long) to town but the location is perfect otherwise, situated between the main train station and the Grindelwald terminal where we caught the gondolas to Jungfraujoch (Top of Europe) and Mannlichen (en route to Wengen). The hotel has a complimentary shuttle on arrival and departure to the train station (which unfortunately we didn't know about until we arrived and checked-in). It must have been fairly comical seeing us manoeuvre our suitcases down a steep slope.

Glacier Hotel has absolutely the best breakfast, great coffee and food is overall very good - fantastic sweet potato fries. Thoroughly enjoyed my Jalapeño margarita as well. Well worth having dinner (must book in advance) at its restaurant - beautifully plated dishes (separate comment on the restaurant). Nice to eat out on the patio on a sunny day. The rooms are relatively large, which means a nice sized bathroom and enough space for large suitcases. Only issue is the little coffee table in the room, which can be difficult to shift. Service is attentive and efficient and they made us feel very comfortable. The hotel found my scarf that I had left behind and mailed it to me.
