The picture-postcard mountain village of Wengen carries Switzerland into the world. For years, an international mix of guests has found their way to the lively hotel in the best location in the car-free village, and not only because of the famous Lauberhorn ski race. In addition to the large wellness area, the main attraction in the historic building is the sun terrace with a view of the Jungfrau and the surrounding impressive mountain landscape.

The overall impression of the hotel Is fairly price for money 3*, beautiful central location next to train station. The friendliness of the staff is really a 4*, halfboard 4*.
The outside, rooms and look and feel i would say 2*. It looks like no one is caring about the outside and inside of the hotel. Why building a new whirlpool next to the spa, please safe the money into updating the existing pool, it needs to be cleaned (dirty tiles/ rust on air fans, rust on speakers etc), updating rooms like your resort in Arosa and Sils-Maria.
The building is magnificent victorian style but it needs attention, caring and love❤️. We have been here in 2013 and it was in a quit good shape, but since then nothing has changed.
We miss the LOVE and caring in the hotel, bring the building back in shape instead of spending money on a New whirlpool, and a wooden backpacker in front of the hotel.

A German retailer hawks the rooms, so we booked for one night with very low expectations. And we’ve experienced a positive surprise. We were assigned larger balcony rooms in the annex. While these rooms are still tiny, they are well designed, clean and functional. The only items in need of replacement are the safes. They worked, but operation was tricky in both rooms. The keypad would sometimes only accept entry of a code after pressing the E button. Lighter duvets for warm summer nights would also be an asset.

We have enjoyed the friendly service, the excellent four course dinner, the nice spread at breakfast and the huge wellness section; all way above usual standards for a hotel of this class.

A recent poster has complained about a mandatory charge for use of bathrobes. The GM then replied that such charge is stated in the confirmation email so that everything is ok. No, that’s not ok. First of all, the charge only becomes apparent after completion of the reservation. Second, it’s common sense that such fees (like those for baby cots, parking or dogs) are optional: no use, no charge. Sure enough the bathrobe fee was on the invoice at checkout. When I enquired, the receptionist said that everyone booking low third party rates was charged this fee and that we had certainly used the bathrobes? Three family members had used their robes while I had not. Without further resistance, she removed the 10 CHF for my unused robe. While this is still a strange and poorly communicated policy, the new possibility of opting out makes it legal and acceptable. With thanks to the reviewer bringing this up and to the management for taking corrective action.

We travelled with three other families in Switzerland and this was our favorite hotel. The location amongst the mountains - near the train and the grocery store. The rooms are simple, but the views from the room are amazing. The breakfast was extensive with an excellent espresso machine that also makes decaf (a hard find in Europe). Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The highlight of course is the pool. Fun for kids and very very very relaxing for the adults with the lounge chairs. The food at the restaurant was a little above average but expensive - but that was true for most of Switzerland. They were kind enough to let us use a lounge to have a birthday party for my niece and we were able to ask the chef to make us one of the most delicious and rich chocolate cakes. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We received a voucher for 2 nights as a wedding gift in this hotel (which nevertheless kept mentioning the price per night of 260 CHF, even on the bill!): the whole hotel needs urgent refurbishing, balconies are made of a dirty iron board, rooms are much smaller and less furnished shown on pictures, towels are small and thin, the only have twin beds (a blanket was used to construct a queen size, what a wedding attention...), no complimentary products, no welcoming effort is made by a very young staff, none of whom speaks French. You have to do everything by yourself, and there is a feeling a youth hostel about it. The worst was the evening meal (CHF 45, 'glacier' tap water... 3.50 CHF): industrial tasteless dishes in very little quantity, especially for skiers, and even artificial colouring, very rapid service (to get rid of customers by 9.30). Very sad when you have no option given the COVID19 situation than eat at the hotel. The Swiss hotel industry is cashing public subsidies while taking advantage of the situation for offering low services for shockingly high prices, with no attention for guests. Water and coffee capsules are not refilled in the room (and you cannot go outside for a drink), despite previous comments, and there is no tea/boiler. A total shame. The spa and breakfast are OK.

This was a bit of a last minute emergency booking but my what a find - I would 100% recommend this hotel. Very good value for money for the facilities available and with tremendous character - the pool with a view and jets, fountains etc is the best I have ever come across anywhere, and the outside jacuzzi overlooking the mountains is just divine! The staff are extremely helpful and accommodating, the rooms are very comfortable with everything you need - oh my the views!!!! Right next to the train station which is VERY handy but with no disturbance from the trains. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious. I didn't try the bar area but looked very pleasant. Very comfortable beds with massive pillows. I have really enjoyed staying here and will freely recommend to anyone wanting a thoroughly enjoyable stay in Wengen.

Location 5- within 100 metres of Wengen train station. We just turned left from the station and landed in the hotel.
Breakfast is sumptuous with a wide choice of breads, cheeses, meats, coffee chocolate and fruit juices. Also hot beacon, scrambled and boiled eggs and sausages. You have a nice view of Jungfrau from the breakfast room.
Rooms- We stayed in the Jungfrau view rooms which had a balcony with beautiful mountain views. Rooms including bathroom were very clean. Beds comfortable. Coffee maker available. Bathrobe and bathroom slippers provided.
Swimming pool- Indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi and whirlpool available, included in room rent.
Reception was efficient, courteous and responsive to our needs. Only one service call was needed and promptly attended.
Ebikes available on rent.
In short, a very pleasant stay. Will definitely go again.

Great location just few steps from train station and the ski lift. Great stylish facade and above all great spa. Well kept, warm pool, silent panoramic area. All top notch. Good service and convenient in house restaurants. Another strong point is breakfast. Salmon, fresh smoothies, fruit trays and warm dishes in a very pleasant setting. The only area of improvement is the room size. While all the standard features are there we had less than a meter from the end of the bed to the wall. A bit oppressive. For the rest very clean and of course silent (no cars resort helps).

We spent two days at the resort in early September and it was wonderful. We came before our room was ready and there is a locked storage space to put your luggage. The hotel is near the cable car to go to Mannilichen and there are many restaurants and shops around the hotel. We had a wonderful room overlooking the alps and we ate dinner one night just to enjoy the view. The spa is so relaxing. The water is warm and we went there to relax after the days of hiking. They do not have a "hot tub" but rather an area of the spa with bubbles that you relax in. The breakfast was terrific and featured meat, scrabble eggs, hard boiled eggs, sausage, bacon, pastry, fruit, veggies and jams. The staff was very pleasant and helpful in every way. We would def go back. Wengan was a wonderful home base for us.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel. The room was pleasantly appointed and comfortable (the pillows are flat as a pancake, though and not comfortable, but that is surely a question of preference). The staff is very pleasant and we especially appreciated Beate in the dining room. We had booked with half board and the food was good quality and tasty. The kitchen could adapt for a gluten free diet without issue. The pool area is an absolute highlight of the hotel, the 33 degree water is a fabulous treat, at the end of a day of hiking. The location of the hotel, just across from the train station, is ideal. All in all a lovely and memorable visit to Wengen.

We went to a restaurant the night of the Lauberhorn and it was awful. There were only very low quality dishes: pasta with pesto without gable, canned tomato sauce, tasteless tomato mousse, industrial dessert, ice cream for the children with a taste of not fresh and all that for an exorbitant 45 francs per person. Go on your way, there are addresses where you can eat much better for less money.

Our room would not have had any space for a crib. You would definitely need to check and see if they have larger rooms. We loved our accommodations--the breakfast, pool, location and view were awesome, but it definitely would not hold a crib.
