We stayed here for one week via Inghams. Unfortunately, the weather was poor for the time of year , it rained for four days solid. However, this did not detract from my impression of this hotel. The wonders and staff are excellent and accommodating to...More
This is an historic hotel in a very beautiful location in a mountain village. No car access to Wengen village which is great, adding to the charm and peace and quiet. No worries about getting out and about as the village has both cable car...More
Wow, what a lovely hotel and such a warm welcome from the family and staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, well beyond our expectations especially the gala buffet which included a wide variety of the speciality meats and cheeses of the...More
My first impression of the hotel up the hill from the station was its magnificent position facing the clear and snow capped peaks of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau. The staff were there to welcome us with a drink and spoke good English. My room...More
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at this hotel for 10 days in June/July 2014. The hotel is very old fashioned but in a warm and friendly way. We paid a little extra for a superior room with Jungfrau views - definitely do this as...More

Coming down the mountain you can ski straight to the hotel and onwards to the lift if you want.

We had the breakfast package for Hotel Falken and had dinner at Sina's which was spectacular. Falken has a wonderful formal dining room with linen and silver. At breakfast, guests are dressed for their day of skiing or hiking, depending on the season. If you email the hotel, they will give you a practical answer on the dinner dress code. Through the week they have some buffet dinners. The town is very outdoorsy casual.
We don't have any experience with the Swiss card, but the fare to the Top of Europe is pricey and not covered by a Eurail pass. If it works with your schedule, try to go on a clear day. The Ice Palace was my favorite. My children really enjoyed the sledding. Try fondue or raclat or rosti for lunch while you are there.
