Arrived in St Moritz by Glacier Express for the night, before departing by the same the following morning. The reception was very welcoming, friendly and efficient for our first visit to St Moritz. The hotel is well placed about 8 mins walk from the centre of St Moritz itself and only a 10 min bus ride (3 CHF per person) from the train station or 25 CHF taxi ride in about 6 mins. We used both. Bedrooms are large with a decent sized en-suite. Double bed and sofa (looked like sofa bed) in our rooms, which meant we could sit and chat in the evening in comfort. We took dinner and breakfast in the hotel's restaurant (Riccardo's) which was also very good - a decent choice for dinner on the menu with efficient and helpful staff. A full buffet breakfast in the morning, which was also excellent.

Went to St Moritz with a group of friends. we were going for the horse racing on ice, for my 60th birthday. As hotels in St Moritz can be pricey, this hotel stood out in comparison. Yes if you have pots of money you can book into the Carlton or the Wadhaus with views of the lake, but on a budget this hotel is fabulous. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to help. Only got a couple of names unfortunately Francesca who greeted us on reception and seemed to be there all hours, always with a smile ( Think she might also be the Manager) and Federico behind the Bar who even though he was working on his own, sorted drinks out always with a smile. All the other staff from the Cleaners to the Restaurant/Breakfast staff to the other young lady on Reception with the Blonde Permed/Frizzy hair were polite, friendly and always helpful. The location is ok. Skiing ( which we didnt have time for) is a short bus ride away. The Funicular up the mountain is a short bus ride away, right outside the hotel, and the lake for the horse racing is a 5 minute walk around the corner. Couple of minor gripes. One of the door code locks wasnt working, they tried to fix it to no avail but it worked via a key lock, and the pillows in the rooms could probably do with an upgrade. all in all a great trip with great memories made all the more richer by the fabulous staff

Pleasant hotel in good position, ground floor reception and Bar “Rickardo’s are definitely well appointed.
The smallest portion of house Red wine I have ever seen (one finger width in a glass ) for 8 euros. After being in Italy for the previous 2 weeks I was embarrassed for them, I guess that’s St Moritz!
Rooms have No Wi-Fi, no filling in pillows; no AC controller (on purpose). Not a good nights sleep.

We had originally booked a Deluxe room for two nights for our wedding week and paid 500 chf for our stay. The pictures of the room looked lovely — which is why we booked there. When we arrived, we were taken into an old-fashioned room, with carpet on the walls, which didn’t look like the pictures at all. The bathroom was dirty and super tiny (we couldn’t fit in at the same time) and there wasn’t even a mini fridge to keep our picnic cold for the next day. We asked the receptionist to change room or leave (we hadn’t touched anything in the room and offered to pay for the night even if we left), but they told us that it was the exact same room as the one on Booking (clearly they didn’t even bother come with us), and said we would have to pay the 500 chf even if we left. We called booking.com and the hotel manager — booking said we had to negotiate with the hotel as they couldn’t do anything; and the hotel said the same about booking. The manager offered us to pay 20% of our stay on the phone (which we agreed to) and when we left right away the receptionist said the manager surely “made a mistake saying that because of his French” and we had to pay 400 chf. It was a total disaster, even though there was such a small amount of tourists in the hotel, and the staff clearly lacked respect. We left completely disappointed with no regard to the fact that it was our wedding week. We had never been treated so badly by a hotel staff and will never come back — worst value for money.

The hotel was spacious, however it was very odd. First, we had the suite on the first floor which came with a kitchen, two bathrooms and two bedrooms. Therefore the space provided was very nice. However, since we visited in June, it was very warm and they did not have air conditioning, which is expected. We slept with the door open, however we could hear the conversation from people at the bar right below us. Unfortunately we only stayed one night, and there was a group of men being extremely loud. We could also smell their cigarettes with the doors open (we don’t smoke).

The second bedroom was spacious but opened up to a weird space. Therefore we couldn’t open the windows as it was a dark/junky open space right behind the room (there was a broken washing machine literally sitting in the area). Therefore this room was very warm and did not have any air flow at night. I attached a picture of the area behind the second bedroom

The next morning, we woke up and went down to have breakfast. When we walked around from the elevator to the lobby area, there was a large door that was dead bolted shut. We started to look for other ways out of the elevator area, but only found stairs that lead back upstairs. Within a few minutes, the desk clerk came and opened the door (yes it was deadbolted). I’m not sure if we were locked into the hotel area or what, however we were relieved when the door was opened.

I asked the lady why it was locked and she either didn’t understand me or didn’t want to answer.

Lastly, I had asked to do laundry here. At first the desk clerk said I had laundry in the suite, so I went upstairs and checked. I came back down and explained that I didn’t see a washer/dryer and she replied saying that we can only do laundry whole housekeeping was working. Therefore, laundry facilities are not easily accessible to traveling families at this hotel.

Overall, I would have given this hotel a higher ranking however the door being locked to exit from the hotel area into the lobby was extremely odd and makes me uncomfortable to stay here again with kids.

Great service from the lady who works in the afternoon shift who help us to get ski pass and make dinner reservation. The girl in the morning is unfriendly. Beautiful room view with the mountain and great location with bus 1 from train station. Love the hotel and highly recommend it.

Friendly staff throughout the Hotel. Very attentive and friendly Dinner Service by Alberto. Food was good and big portions. Breakfast was the usual Swiss Continental.

Room was clean, a bit dark, but shows a bit wear and tear (room 201).

We rented the apartment. Five of us. One room overlooked the street and was fine but noisy. The other room for the three of us was horrible. It looked like it had two windows from the pictures but when you pulled back the drapes, one had been filled it and was actually a wall. The other window opened up into a communal outdoor space next to what sounded like the laundry room. All night noise. The restaurant was the best part of this hotel.

The Piz is excellently located within walking distance to the Signal-Bahn and the village square. The Rooms are very modern and stylishly designed. They all have wooden floors and large flatscreen TV's. They offer spacious family rooms and appartments too. You would expect to see such rooms in a 4-Star Hotel and not in a B&B. Altough located on one of the main streets, rooms are very quiet (but mind that the rooms have no view to the mountains). There is a cosy lobby lounge with a bar and an excellent Pizzeria. Buffet Breakfast is very rich and of good quality. The Sauna and a Steambath are on the 4th floor (and not in the basement as you often see in other hotels). The Piz is the place for active people, not keen of staying in one of the (often overpriced) fancy St. Moritz Hotels, but still require a decent accomodation.

Walking is best along the lake route.Exit left from train station. It is flat with compact snow, easy walking. About 15 minutes to Coop supermarket across the road on the right. Then straight to junction 2 minutes. Sharp right and hotel is 1 minute on the right. If you take a taxi it is about 16 swiss francs
