Just spent another week at the Hotel Alfa skiing in Zermatt. Great budget hotel, well located for Gornergrat and Sunnegga lifts, and for ski bus stop to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Two minutes to Bahnhofstrasse Strasse, 5 mins to the station. Very friendly hosts. Great breakfast. Ask for a south facing room (Matterhorn view).

We stayed in the hotel from June 13 to 15, 2016. We booked 2 rooms as we were a family of 4. The rooms were nice and clean but a bit small for our liking. We were given a room at the 1st Floor with a balcony having a stunning view of the Matterhorn. The room and the bathroom were...

Very clean place and fantastic location. The staff are very friendly too. The rooms are very small with shared bathroom and toilettes but well maintained. So good for solo travelers, especially on a budget. The breakfast spread in their sister hotel next door was amazing. A very good start before hiking. Not all rooms have the view of the Matterhorn...

Stayed in a small single room, toilet and shower down the corridor. Room was basic but clean and comfortable and a reasonable price. Nice little lounge downstairs and only a 10 minute or so walk from the station. The breakfast which you take next door in the Hotel Metropol, it is super, lots of choice, very friendly staff and the...

My husband and I have been visiting this hotel for about ten years now and my only regret is that I haven't written a review about it yet! Each time we return we are welcomed by the wonderful owners and the professional yet friendly staff who are attentive and make us feel as if we are coming back to a...

A great hotel for the price. Its an older hotel and there are no thrills, but its a perfect hotel for a cheap and simple stay in the very center of Zermatt. Its a 2 min walk to the main street and an easy 1 min walk to the bus stop. It was clean, comfy and the staff were polite....

Apart from being "vintage", the hotel is correct: very clean, very nice staff, good breakfast and amazing location. Btw, I can assure room 21 has an amazing Matterhorn view from the bed! Considering Zermatt is a pretty expense place, i think this hotel has a good cost benefit. Ah, and they accept dogs, which was a plus for me.

Booked with slight trepidation on reading reviews. ok so the room was very small but exactly what I needed and I planned ahead and brought entertainment on my tablet and books. I enjoyed my stay, especially the free WiFi, the excellent breakfast in the hotel next door, the lack of fuss and the impeccably clean bathroom, which although shared I...

Close to railway station, close to the Sunnegga lift, close to the main street. Breakfast at the 4star neighbor hotel as well as spa and relax. Rooms are small but so is the price also. It gives an overall clean impression. I will stay there next time since I am a budget traveller/skier, and the location is superb.
