Really nice, comfy and clean hotel. The staff was really friendly and really good location, the tram is at less than 1 min from the hotel. The breakfast was included and was a buffet with lots of choices to choose. Our room had a little balcony and bathroom with a big bath :)

This hotel has a very good price value for Zurich - remember, this is one of the most expensive cities in the world! The rooms are simple but OK, breakfast buffet is great! Very friendly service, too. It's not very close to the city center, but it's really well connected with public transport both to the city center and to the airport. Also, you have free parking spaces, which is very rare in Zurich. Can definitely reccommend!

The best thing is location. It is located just next to tram station so travelling to city was convenient. The rooms were very small but clean and tidy with a large window view. The buffet breakfast was nice with many options and nicely served. Free wifi. Overall worth for money and I would recommend this hotel for a night stay.

We booked this hotel on Booking.com for check in on July 3 2013 for 1 night. Before this trip I visited over 60 countries, but this was the most terrible experience! We arrived at 10:20PM and the Hotel Landhus was CLOSED and DOORS WERE LOCKED. Imagine arriving to a hotel (which is marketed as a hotel close to the airport) at 22:20 to find that doors are locked and NOBODY IS IN THE HOTEL ALL NIGHT FROM 22:00 UNTIL MORNING! We PAID for 1 night stay in this hotel, however NOBODY ANSWERED THE PHONE at this hotel when we called for help at 10:20 PM. In front of the hotel we met several tourists they had issues with the room. They complained that nobody is in the hotel to help after 10PM. Booking.com and hotel answered to us that during reservation they mention the time of check in. HOWEVER, on Booking.com during the booking process you have no warning that you have to check in before 10PM. In fact, Booking.com has a clear statement that Hotel Landhus, Katzenbachstrasse 10, 8052 Zürich check in time is from 11AM. Booking.com nor the hotel during the reservation process warned us of their policy to close the hotel after 10PM. This is from the Booking.com site during the reservation process:

Check-in: from 11:00
Check-out: until 11:00

Only after you booked this hotel on Booking.com they will email you the confirmation of booking. On this confirmation they will spell in small letters that the booking time is from 11AM to 10PM. However, I am sure that most of tourists traveling to a hotel, which is marketed as being close to the international airport and convenient for air travelers will not look into small letters that state that check in is only until 10PM.

In addition, there is IMPORTANT INFORMATION section that you receive after you booked on Booking.com. This section HAS NO INFORMATION THAT THIS HOTEL IS CLOSED AND LOCKED AFTER 10PM.

I believe this is not safe to stay in this hotel when you can not call for help after 10PM.

My recommendation is stay away and find another hotel. Let's say something brakes at night in your room in this hotel and where you are going to call in a foreign country when nobody is in the hotel from 10PM to answer your call?

Thank you and best regards,

We arrived late, and had dinner first. I saw a few bugs on the wall and killed those but didn’t pay more attention. After 30 mins of sleep woke up and noticed the whole room was full with these bugs. Covering the bed, the walls. Even had a few bites.
As there is no reception staff after 2300 decide to sleep in the car....next day, staff was surprised and friendly and gave a refund, but looking at the size, and the amount of bugs this must have been longer than only very recent. I’ll never sleep here again.

Found this hotel on the booking.com. This is a nice small hotel very close to the airport just next to the Seebach Station.

The hotel in general is a very basic hotel with very small rooms with bare minimum available in the room. The rooms look quite old and are in need of serious overhaul. There is free wifi available in the hotel. The hotel lift is very small for even 2 people to enter together and if you are anywhere outside the painted yellow border lines (since the lift opens on 2 sides), the lift will stop in between the 2 floors. Thats what happened with me. I had to raise the alarm and the receptionist shouted at me from below that I need to be in the centre of the lift. It was difficult to guess however how 2 people could stand in the centre of the lift when it was already so small. However, we almost embraced each other trying to be as away from both the doors and the lift went up the second floor.

The restaurat is very good and has a good variety of food, but extremely expensive. There is a supermarket just round the corner. So if you are looking for having some drinks, better option would be to just buy the drinks from the supermarket.

The worst thing was my check out experience. I had an early morning flight to Brussels and I came to the reception to check out at 5.30 am only to find it closed and a warning sign forbidding me to cross as the alarm was activated. I somehow managed to get hold of the cleaning lady who was vacuum cleaning the restaurant and with a lot of difficulty heard the banging on the door, due to vacuum cleaning. She informed that the reception would only open at 7 am. I couldn't wait till 7, so I handed her the keys and called the reception of the hotel later from Brussels to ask them to check me out and charge the credit card used for doing the booking. So if you are having a early morning check out better to do it the night before.

The Taxi to the airport costs around 30 CHF and the bus trip around 3 CHF. The bus leaves every 10 minutes to and from the airport regional bus stand and is very convenient. Takes about 8 minutes to reach the hotel.

The receptionist was very polite, but the lady who attended to us at in the reception had a very stern and aggresive look. I wouldn't want to have such a person serve me when I am paying above 20 Euros for a plate of chicken breast with sauce.

Overall ok value for money. Receptionist was very friendly and efficient, unfortunately the same can not be said about the staff at the restaurant - too busy playing with her Iphone to serve the guests.
While the exterior of the hotel is very nice to look at, the room I was staying in, was very tiny and a bit depressing.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. It is located in the Seebach area of Zurich. They gave me a single room on the second floor with private bathroom. The room was quite clean, the bed comfortable but not the pillow. It had a table and a chair, one a small TV and a small safe in the wardrobe. The bathroom is small but it has hot water and good water pressure. The problem is the lack of an air conditioner and a refrigerator. The sound was good enough. A big problem is the sockets which do for devices such as a laptop, and want antaptora.I asked and gave me the reception.
The bus number 768 from the airport leaves 50 meters from the hotel entrance. To go to the airport or take tram 14 to the city, it is enough to go back to the hotel where it stops. A big problem is the very small elevator. It is generally a good hotel for cheap accommodation in Zurich.

The Landhaus is a medium sized hotel situated in the Seebach district right next to the bus and tram terminus. There is a direct bus connection to the airport. I stayed here alone for three nights between the 4th and 7th May. My single room on the 2nd floor ( No.18 ) was on the small side but enough space and I was only there to sleep. There was a small TV which I didn't watch and a small safe in the wardrobe which I also didn't use. More than enough storage space but only four hangers! The room overlooked the main entrance which was on a side street so was probably one of the quieter ones as those at the front were facing the main road and those at the back the transport terminus. The window was double glazed but had no safety catch to prevent a guest falling out ( perhaps the law is different inSwitzerland ?) The bathroom had a wonderfully powerful shower, loo and handbasin with liquid soap provided for the shower and basin The weather was on the cool side so I had no problems with the temperature in the room but needed to keep the window shut to keep out early morning traffic noise and the nearby church bell clock which commenced clanging at 7am each morning with a deafening peal of bells on Sunday for good measure.

There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but this is the norm on the continent I believe.

I didn't use the lift but i wouldn't recommend it for claustrophobics as it's tiny.

Reviewers have mentioned cleanliness but I thought it was excellent. Service was good. I needed a plug adapter and another pillow and these were produced willingly and without fuss. The staff were friendly and helpful. The towels were changed every day even though I hung the old ones up for multiple use

The buffet breakfast was very good. Plenty of cereal, juices, yogurt, fresh fruit, cheese, salami, crusty rolls and bread. Tea or coffee was offered with refills on request. There is a pleasant rear conservatory addition to the breakfast room. Ideal to watch the comings and goings at the transport terminus while idling over breakfast.

In conclusion I would recommend this hotel. It's comfortable and basic but offers excellent value for money in a city that's renowned for being horribly expensive.

I would certainly stay here again.
