To echo a previous reviewer, this restaurant is sadly not what it used to be. We were a group of six, returning after a year's gap, to find things have changed. The menu was very average. The food was no more than good average, certainly not of the level previously experienced. The wait between courses was far too long &...

I only stayed one night, but wish I could have stayed longer. It's a beautifully appointed gastro-pub, with great food, charming en-suite bedrooms and very friendly staff. The Cotswolds overflow with pretty pubs, but this is definitely one I'd like to go back to.

Tasteful Cotswold pub/restaurant in picturesque village. Eating area spread over several linked rooms hence cosy atmosphere. Small but good choice of beers and cider. Reasonably limited menu (about 8 dishes each course) plus 2 specials of the day, but this means food can all be freshly made which it clearly was. Main courses from £11 pasta dish up to £20...

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants. We understand that the quality and reputation of this restaurant had since slipped but that the former owner had now returned and all was well again. That was not our recent experience in June 2015. The food was 'okay'; the service was abysmal. We had a table for 8. It seemed...

When we heard that the Fox was back in the capable hands of Ian Mackenzie we decided to give it a try after staying away for a couple of years! Delighted to report that it has now returned to the Fox we grew to love years ago! We Sat in the garden for pre-dinner drinks. Moved into the cosy bar...

You will need a map / Satnav to find this pictuesque Cotswold pub only a stones throw from the touristy Stow-on-the-Wold, but well worth the effort. Frequented by many 'locals' which is always a good sign of recommendation. Indoor or outdoor dining in the walled garden. Good and varied menu, mainly local produce served by friendly, attentive staff. We were a...

We have visited this pub for a family celebration several times over a few years and I have not been convinced in the past. Serving 'foam' and 'jus' in a pub restaurant seemed pretentious to me... However my recent meal was one to convince anybody. We were a large party and between us ordered everything from the menu. It was...

Stayed nearby and returned to the Fox which did not disappoint. Beautifully resented pub which majors of food which it does with style and panache. Excellent menu good choice of beers and wine and outstanding food all presented with a smile. What's not to like?

We have visited the Fox many times over the last year mainly for Sunday lunch and the occasional evening meal. The consistency in the food, service and ambiance in a so very typical Cotswold country pub is o joy to locals and tourists alike. They are very much food led however you can still visit the Fox for just a...

Have visited The Fox many times and experienced several different owners. A recent visit found another change of regime. The decor has much improved we a brighter cleaner look, the food was bang on form, with a short but well executed menu accompanied by a decent wine list.
