We visited over a weekend en route to a Christening. The weather outside was wintry, but a blazing fire soon warmed us up. The pub served a good selection of beers, I done became accustomed to the Dizzy Blonde (beer not barmaid...) We enjoyed a good meal which was well presented and generously portioned. Our accommodation in the converted barn... More

Informal country pub, blazing fire, dogs allowed, friendly service. Easy parking. Good varied menu. Inexpensive. Food nicely prepared, prompt service. Walkers welcomed, when we arrived walkers had taken off their boots and drying them in front of the fire. No one stands on ceremony here.

We stopped here for something to eat as we were staying up the road at the holiday park.. The welcome was a little cold from the barmaid.. We ordered drinks and sat down.. We were so hungry that we decided to stay for food.. Once we had ordered the staff became more friendly.. My boyfriends Tower burger was huge.. We... More

After calling to book for a table of 11 including 3 children with only 2 hours notice I was really pleased with the response. No problem. Good food, great staff & fantastic cask ales. Definitely recommend. We have been in twice since Saturday and have been treated like locals. Sky sports, open fires, good food & great choice of beer.

We stayed 2 nights this weekend with friends. Had a delightful stay at the Cheshire Cheese. Staff are excellent here, we were very well looked after. Nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast was huge, (the Cumberland sausage was particularly great quality). We dined there both nights and be prepared, the portions are big, you won't be able to eat... More

We had a two night stay in Sept 2016. Lovely location, great beer, fab food! Thanks for looking after us so well! Cosy warm fire! Nice room! Really helpful staff! I had lamb shank which was delicious. My favourite Robinson's beer was Unicorn.

We stayed in Longnor for 3 nights and the Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn, was the 'local pub' and we loved it. Dog friendly which is the biggest thing for us, the staff were really nice and the beer was fab. Great atmosphere for a country pub.

Only just got round to doing this review. My girlfriend and I came to stay here for 3 nights to explore the Peak District. The gentleman who greeted us in the bar was really friendly and seemed very keen to see us to our room in the converted barn opposite.
