What a great place; the food is good, service friendly and efficient and good value too. The portions are huge & we even got a free lift to & from the camping site we were staying at. Two main courses, a bottle of Malbec and a cafetiere for 2 came to £45.

Came to our rescue with delicious sausages and mash when our wedding caterers cancelled on us last minute. After a bit of heavy drinking, our guests were delighted to tuck into some hearty food and there were compliments and happy bellies from everyone. Fantastic communication and service - and so kind of them to bring everything across to us in...

We were staying at a nearby caravan site and were told on arrival that the pub has a pick up and drop off service if you ring them - good idea if you want a few drinks! We drove in the evenings after our delightful days out sightseeing in the peak district, a stunning area. I would recommend the food...

On arrival late afternoon we were shown to our upstairs room over the road in the converted barn. A lot of thought has gone into this conversion as the room was well planned with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom was large and had a lovely powerful shower. It had turned a little cold outside and it was...

This pub has ensuite facilities over the road which are clean, warm and comfortable. The pub serves good reasonably priced food including excellent breakfasts all of which are freshly cooked. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the locals ready to share their information about local walks. Would happily go back and stay again.

Stayed there 14th - 16th august to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. Lovely accommodation, everything you needed was in room. The pub was friendly and enjoyed meals on both nights, breakfast was just what needed before a nice walk. Definitely would recommend and certainly would go again

We visited Longnor in a campervan for somewhere to eat as we had preciously stayed at the Crewe and Harpur which has unfortunately closed down like so many other public houses. The place was full and we only just managed to get a table. It is full of olde worlde charm which can mean a bit of dust here and...

We went camping and I had noticed this pub on a dog friendly website so thought we would try, when we got to our campsite (Longnor Wood) they advised that if we called the pub they would come and collect us (and the dog!) for free and bring us back later - what an invaluable service! Two of us ordered...

We have just returned home after our annual visit to Longnor, staying at the Cheshire Cheese. We attended a Royal Marines commemorative service at the church. As well as an excellent meal for the group, our room was it's usual excellent standard, breakfast great. What makes a great place even better? The wonderful, attentive staff and management. As soon as...
