The first impression of the hotel was that it was really hard to find. The entrance is not on a road, you have to walk down an alley to locate it. My driver had a hard time finding the hotel using their in car GPS. Once I found the place I was pleasantly surprised. The lobby is clean and modern....

It's a good hotel with a friendly service and good breakfast. Quite basic but the location is good - next to the university and the central market. However it does have a major downside - windows in my room faced a small yard which hosts two very popular student pubs. Both pubs are actually very good but if you are...

The breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options. The coffee machine (espresso, capuccino, etc) was excellent. I really liked the under-floor heating in the bathroom. After being outside on a cold night, that really makes the room feel comfortable. WiFi was reliable. Earplugs really help with the outside noise issue. The noise from the bar late at night woke me...

A basic, no frills hotel, which has a quintessential Dutch-style - neat, tidy and minimalistic, but also a bit impersonal and clinical. Best characteristic is its central location, but is also its worst characteristic as it is squashed in among several bars and restaurants, which makes it extremely noisy. So, the ear plugs they offer are necessary! Sufficient space to...

The (University) hotel is located minutes away from the city center and the university buildings. It offers basic but very clean rooms. The bathroom I had was clean and very adequate. Wifi is free and available throughout the building. The hotel caters for guests and staff of the university but also for the general public.

The hotel looked lovely and modern from the pics. Not the room I was given! Must have been forgotten in the renovation. I had a pocky room (C17), student style really (perhaps I should have guessed by the name), with a small square window opening onto a tiny court making the room really dark in the middle of the day....

First time a rather difficult to find this hotel. Hotel location is opposite from Groningen University Building. I'm so suprised with their hospitality, thankful. Room was clean. Turist attaction (Grotemarkt and Vismarkt) just only 3 minutes walk and we can find anything there. So many cafe and resto surronding, make easy for me to dine.

I stayed for work for three nights. The overall room and breakfast was good. It has free wifi, which is always a plus. The only not-so-good thing was that the room faced a small square which had a pub. It was quite noisy until around 3am. They did have ear plugs, but still it is not very comfortable to wear...

The first hotel I've visited where they offer you ear plugs. Yes, you need them if you are sensitive to noise, there's a bar just outside. The location is very convenient, near the fish market. Wifi is excellent and there is a pleasant lounge with a coffee machine downstairs.

A cross-over between a youth hostel and a no-frills hotel for academics this place has taken me through the night already on two occasions. My conclusion: unbeatable in Groningen when you have business in the city center until late and don't want to drive home. Excellent price, clean rooms and yes, it's the city center, so it can be a...
