Travellers' Choice
As the people of Groningen say 'Moi!', or 'welcome' to Groningen. Groningen is a lively, quaint and varied city. Be sure to visit Groningen at least once in your life! For many, it is quite a trip up north, but it is definitely worth it. Our hotel is situated right next to Martini Plaza, at the edge of the city centre. The hotel's industrial and unique appearance makes it radiate as much boldness and energy as the city itself. Just a 20-minute walk will take you to the city centre, next to the Martinitoren. You will enjoy every minute of this walk, as every step of the way you will see something very typical to Groningen. Student city Groningen is mainly known for its unparalleled nightlife, but offers plenty of opportunities for every type of trip. Nothing beats Groningen!

Our 6th visit to the Apollo was a big disappointment. Always been super content but this time so many things ruined our stay. The apartment was without was privacy. Couldn't open the curtains without a view from the street and the passage. We got a cheaper deluxe room but it was absolutely not a great replacement fir the apartment. Which is far more spacious and has some extras. Cockroaches on the floor and second day it was still there. They didn't sweep the floor for two days. The soap dispenser was not replaced leaving us with only one at the sink and not the shower. And couldn't take it out of the holder. The shower went from warm to cold to warm etc. This was a problem the visits before. Tv remote was not functioning properly. Staff are really nice but new people should get better training and shouldn't register people when it super busy. It could be that kickstarting after covid closedown takes longer then expected but some things should happen. Like the cockroaches on the floor. The blinds in the bathroom have not been cleaned in years which invoked an astma attack when opening it with my girlfriend. Very disappointed and not sur if we would go again this year. .os we did get a free breakfast offer to compensate for the experience but unluckily we were invited somewhere else

The hotel is nearby the city center and easily accessible with a rental bicycle which we rent via the reception. We have enjoyed the cozy city center before check-in. Our room (Deluxe room) was very spacious and equipped with a good bed, which was made up as a king size as requested, a bathtub in the bathroom to relax after a long stroll in the city. The food from Chefs is delicious, very tasty! Staff is very friendly as well. We have enjoyed our two night getaway and will definitely go back in the future!

The staff was just amazing. Nothing was too much to make us feel royal. The safety and health regulations were there are well managed (we felt safe), but the hospitality and warmth of the staff was always there and leading. Beds were comfy and the room really clean. We will be back!

the apollo hotel at laan v vredeplein is well situated near the A28 highway but at such distance of 2 km you dont hear it. the hotel is very modern. it is well equipped with restaurant , terrace at 3rd level, the rooms are very spacy and well furnished and equipped. study desk may be slightly compact but coffeemaker makes good. the personnel is friendly and assists at all things. just great hotel at groningen south. easy to reach for business people. good parking opportunity and garage.
