We stayed here for two nights and had a good experience overall. The check-in process went smoothly, as there was someone at the front desk at the time of our arrival. Throughout our stay, however, it was difficult to catch anyone at the desk, as it appeared that the only employee was also waiting tables in the restaurant. The room had enough space for us, and the bathroom was very nice. Our room had both a tub and a shower. We noticed that the room wasn’t as clean as it could have been.

Our host, Jules was charm personified and able to point us in the direction of the happening spots in Maastrict. Ask for a room upstairs, our suite on the main floor, and I wouldn't stay there next time. But not to be deterred, we were ready to explore and Maastrict does delight. Check out the pedestrian zone, the Mustradt which is a lovely walking street, the Spandstralt St., Wolfstradt St., and the Basilica of our Lady. The museums are superb, and the drinks on the were warming and welcoming.

We really enjoyed staying at this pretty, charming hotel. The location can’t be beat, near everything and parking next door. Our room was on the street side on the first floor which was good because there is no elevator. Bathroom was large with a claw foot tub which I wish I had time to take advantage of, but my husband didn’t like that there was no door to the bathroom. Something to know about. One issue; Our bed was a problem, way too soft and we prefer two single beds as we can’t sleep that close together unless it is a king, In the middle of the night we ended up separating the beds ( they were joined by a zipper down the middle) and put one mattress on the floor, at least then, we could get some sleep. It wasn’t that noisy which we must have lucked out on because we read the other reviews about street noise. The manager was very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the breakfast. We have stayed in many hotels with better breakfast that are included in the price of the room, so in that regard, it’s not the best value. I would say it’s a tad overpriced considering the bed situation, the lack of a door on the bathroom and the absence of an elevator.…

Charming historic hotel with super friendly owner and manager. Loved the de or with old leather suitcases used as tables, desks, and side bed stands. Lots of character and original floors. The owner Jules and the manager provided all necessary info and were so nice to talk to. Only15 guest rooms. We were happy to be on the first floor since there are no elevators. No ac, which is something I’m not used to as an American. Very clean. Great location. 15 minute waLkfrom train station.

We reserved a comfort room at the Charmes hotel. The room we got however was at the street side of the hotel. As there's no airco you have no choice but to open the windows... The first night we were kept awake by partying students from midnight until 03.00 am and then at 07.00 the garbage collectors kept me awake until 08.00... The 2nd night a similar scenario, only the garbage collectors didn't show up... Ours being a more expensive room, I'd expect a room at the back of the hotel where it's quiet. We had room #7, so if you decide to book a room here, you know what to avoid... Then the bathroom... If you're a contortionist, you're probably in the right place... The shower stall was appr. 60 cm wide, meaning that whichever way you move, you'll always hit a cold wall... Same for the toilet, small doesn't even come close... Breakfast is just so-so. No parking, closest parking garage at 600 meters costing €25 per 24 hours. I give 2 stars because the location is excellent. …

At first sight the hotel was really nice. In an old building, the room was spacious, with a walk in shower, which was somewhat narrow. The location is perfect, very near to the Vrijthof en Markt. Breakfast is served on a plate (might. be due to Corona regulations, not sure if it is always like this). Our room looked onto the street, which was the main problem. Young people who went out, came through the street in the late night hours, screaming and shouting. On Wednesday morning very early the garbage is collected. All in all, not very good value for money.

Very well located and quiet. This hotel has been nicely decorated but could do with a refresh as it doesn't feel neat or specially clean. Bedrooms are spar (a rail and a shelf for clothes) as was the bathroom (no heating, no hooks or shelves, nor even a rail to leave the towel to dry). There is a handy car park at the back (access is controlled through a pass to obtain at reception and the reception isn't manned 24hrs - this wasn't issue for us but is worth knowing). Our bedroom gave onto that car park so no views but the town being so beautiful, we literally just used the hotel to get some sleep and the bed was comfy. We found a nice modern place around the corner that does an amazing breakfast too, it is called Koffie on Maastrichter Heidenstraat.

What a lovely place and the owner has a good sense of humour and is very friendly. My only little critism is we need (as brits ha ha) access to tea in the mornings so a kettle and tea making facilities in the room would be a great addition. It is so central its great and we would definately stay there again. Love the moustaches placed around the place on various pictures and busts. Love the suitcases as tables. Had a great time and the local area has lovely resturants

This is a small hotel without too many facilities but it served it’s purposes. It’s dead-centre Maastricht located in a really nice old building. Lovely place to stay, excellent breakfast and very affordable. I prefer these places over the bigger hotels. Highly recommended!
