The Eel House is in a great location, within walking distance of Central Station and all of the major Amsterdam attractions. Vera and Jasper were extremely helpful, and Vera's breakfasts were a great way to start the day.
The room was cozy and the bed super comfortable. Vera climbs all the stairs in the morning to bring breakfast up to your room and there's refreshments in the fridge! The area is great with tiny streets, many little shops and great bars. Hurry up...More
I stayed here for a long weekend with my boyfriend, the location is perfect you can walk everywhere, it’s close to all the sights. The rooms are simple and beautiful. Jasper and Vera are great hosts, I would highly recommend.
We spent 6 nights at the Eelhouse and it was the best! The location was perfect - close enough to all the city has, but nestled in a residential area. It was quiet, private with great views and Vera took good care of us. We...More
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers.
As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.

We stayed there last August. They do not have bicycles, but you can find the rental stores all over Amsterdam. I remember there was one about 3 blocks away.
The Dam Square is exactly a 15 minute walk from The Eelhouse.
