We stopped in a room on the top floor (4th) with a private bathroom in May 2015. The rooms were a decent size, very clean and cleverly furnished with music related items making it very quirky. The hotel is a few minutes from a tram stop and around 20 minutes walk to Central Station and the main square. It's also...

Friendly staff. In a nice friendly area. About a 30 min walk from Central Station but less than a 2 min walk from the tram stop which takes you there. Close to the park and museum area. Plus being on the 4th floor gave us a work out every day. Didnt mind being up there as good views out of...

Stayed for two nights while visiting Amsterdam for the second time. This hotel is the place to stay if you like music. Not only it is very near some clubs and concert venues (Paradiso, Melkweg, Hard Rock Café etc) but the whole place makes you feel as if you were really backstage...

We stayed there for two nights and had a great time. The staff is friendly and helps you out, they recommend great restaurants and bars in the neighborhood, and all the sightseeing things to do in Amsterdam. The hotel is really clean. The location is close to the metro only a minute or two walking distance. We had a room on...

I have stayed at this place many times, and I think its great! The location is perfect, 1 minute from Leidseplein. The staff are absolutely awesome and the hotel itself is great! You can also easily take the 197 bus to the airport from just around the corner.

So in my opinion this is more of a hostel than a hotel. The staff were lovely - really nice and friendly and gave advice about things to do/where to go. The rooms weren't great. Not the cleanest, the beds were on wheels and the door to our room didn't even close properly.

I stayed here with friends a few weeks ago. After having the worst winter here in Boston, I had the best experience here at BackStage. A much needed get away and was made to feel so at home and welcomed by the staff. It was like your friends were just waitng for your arrival. Location was perfect as well! Breakfast...

For those who like rock n roll and the rock concert backstage look and feel, this is the perfect place to stay in Amsterdam. We went in the winter and the heater was good; there was a fan in the closet, so there is probably no AC in the summer. The stairs are very steep and with narrow steps. The...

Four of us stayed for two nights in February. 2 adults and 2 teenagers in a family room with en suite. we were situated on the top floor in a good sized room and it was extremely quiet. the en suite was perfect and the beds were comfortable. the bar area was always warm and welcoming and very relaxing. The...

Excellent hotel, great location, 2-3 min walk to Leidseplein, cracking breakfast and friendly & helpful staff. This is one of the nicer hotels I've stayed in. The only complaint was that the TV in our room was too high on the wall so when laying in bed you couldn't see pic properly. That is the only complaint though and would...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
