The residence is a short walk from Waterlooplein Metro Station and from city centre. It has two buildings with separate entrances. The apartment we rented was a very large one (even too large for 4 people) and totally new. A spacious dining room with kitchen and four large double glass windows facing the street. Two large bedrooms facing the inner...

We`ve been there for 4 nights with our 13-year old son early June 2010. Overall I would say that de Lastage certainly does not offer the best value for money in Amsterdam. The positives: - The apartments are modern, well furnished, spacy and clean - The apartments are close to the central station as well as the city center -...

The DeLastage Apartments were clean, modern, and well equipped. With four adults in our party, it was nice to have separate bedrooms and a living room/kitchen. The bedrooms were on the back of the apartments so they were very quiet. The kitchen was well equipped. And, the staff could not have been more helpful. We arrived very early and they...

The apartment is very clean and suitable for a family or group trip. The only thing that someone has to keep in mind is having tissue paper, soap and shampoo with, because the apartment doesnt have this things. the location also is very ggod.

Apartment on great position, quiet part of Amsterdam (10 min walk to center and very near to first shops), clean, very comfort beds (maybe in one room can be king bed). Big day room whith LCD TV and perfect kitchen. Not good: any water or any drink in fridge, any soap in bathroom and no slippers (when you arrive you...

Weve stayed in many apartments and hotels in Amsterdam over the 10 years and to say they are luxury apartments... they are not. However, they are clean spacious and modern (Too modern for my liking, which gave a feel of large open clinical waiting rooms, lacked the comfortable homely feeling). I will give you an honest and fair review for...

We loved our stay at this apartment. It's clean, in a great location, has a lift and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The kitchen is very nicely equipped with pots and pans and good appliances. NOTE on your visit that they DO NOT SUPPLY things like soap, toilet paper, shampoo, kleenex, extra blankets etc. They do however, have towels,...

The apartments are in a great location and were very clean, modern and spacious. They appeared to have been recently renovated and were missing some basics like towel rails, dish clothes and couches for everyone but had some other great features such as an industrial looking oven and stove top, a coffee maker and DVD player. Overall we really enjoyed...

First of all, it is not an hotel ! It's like your apartment, you have to cook yourself (a supermarket is just around the corner) Our apartment was very roomy, with 2 comfortable bedrooms. Modern design, very well equipped, perfect sound insulation, calm neighbours... Ideally located, at a few minutes of main Amsterdam points of interest. Ideal for a couple...

We enjoyed our stay at the De Lestage Apartments - they are first class accommodations in Amsterdam! The location on Valkenburgerstraat is amazing and it's a quick walk to any of the rendy spots in the city. The staff are excellent and very helpful. Thierry Smagge, the manager is a great help and is always available if you need him....

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
