Due to airport delays, our family of five did not arrive at the hotel until around midnight. Martins, the manager waited for us even though the reception closes at 10:00 PM. He was most helpful with any questions we had and quick to find out when he didn't know. The rooms were clean, very simple, but comfortable. There was plenty...

My friends and I have stayed here for 2 nights. We got a nice, refurbished room, so no complaints here. The location is amazing, within walking distance from the very heart of the city, so that is a great plus. However, if you are having trouble climbing the stairs, then it is best to pick a different place to stay,...

A small group of three of us stayed at Hotel Bellington for a few nights. They were very accommodating when asked for a room upgrade due to extra person. The room was very well presented and appeared clean, especially the sheets and towels. We were also provided with toiletries which was good as well. The receptionist was very helpful and...

I stayed 11 nights in this hotel for a conference at the university of Amsterdam. It's located in a luxury street, where is few traffic and very quite at night. There is only shared bathroom, toilet, no lift and the sound insulation is very bad. What's more, the cleaning man is not very responsible. He didn't change the bed sheets...

First thing the room had a mouse! Yes a real mouse, as the receptionist called it "the dinner"... The hotel was really really bad!! We needed to climb 3 levels of narrow stairs with all the bags. Besides the room was not so clean and had an overall mediocre conditions. And everytime someone showered the floor was all wet. If...

This was a while ago I had stayed here. Found one of the staff members really rude when I queried about the payment where it appeared to be charged twice on my card. The room looked nothing like in the pictures. Very basic breakfast. The only good thing was the location.

Gave it 4 stars for the location. right next to Van Gogh museum, the IAmsterdam park, the big park, the casino, designer stores and restaurants area. We got the rom on the third floor. Please note that you need to climb narrow and stiff stairs. No elevator. make sure you only come with small suitcases otherwise you are in trouble....

first let me say that this hotel is nicely located close to the Rijksmuseum. It is just a walking distance from the museums and also, it is on the strip where designer stores are located. Every time I go to the hotel, I get to see the store windows of Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Salvatore, Armani, Burberry, Chanel, etc... When we...

This Hotel was perfect for what we wanted it for. It is in an expensive shopping street, very quiet street away from the busy city. The hotel was clean, cleaned everyday during our 3 night stay. Great location, tram stop is 2 minute walk away from this hotel. Easy access to the city centre. Or about a 25 minute walk,...

Stayed here for 3 nights with my Husband and paid for a room with private toilet and shower which cost £150. Upsides are the room was clean and the location was great. Free Wifi with excellent signal and collected a hairdryer and iron from Reception with no extra cost. Staff were helpful and answered any questions we had Downsides are...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
