First time staying at Double Tree Hilton in Amsterdam (have stayed in other Double Trees in other countries) and I have to say these guys get 5-stars from me. The location certainly cannot be beat, right in the heart of they city, great views over the canals, 5 min walk to central train station. Ambience in the lobby is nice, spacious, smells wonderful and staff were only too happy to be of assistance. Check-in process was smooth and we had our dog with us. Huge bonus for being pet friendly!! They even give you special tags to put on your room door to alert housekeeping so they do not simply enter your room to clean and may startle your pet. Rooms were comfortable, bed was excellent quality (we slept very well). Quiet floor, with a small roof garden. No issues with the connectivity of wifi. I particularly like the soap and shampoos in large refillable bottles as opposed to the small bottles. Breakfast buffet was amazing, lots of variety and we enjoyed all the dinners when we were too tired to head out in to the city in the evenings. As Hilton Honors members we got breakfast included in the price of our stay. All staff members we came in contact with were so pleasant and gave excellent service. Concierge service also excellent; helped us scan and print business documents. I know there are gym facilities but did not use any.

Cons: Aircond does not cool the room to desired temperature no matter how you try to adjust the setting. Lucky we were able to open a very small window and that let some fresh air in to the room. There is no dedicated parking for hotel guests. You will need to use the public parking located underground on Level -2 and you need to be prepared for how expensive this is going to cost you. All up we spent close EUR 250 for 5 days. INSANE! It will charge you EUR 45 per day to park your car. If you leave and come back later that cost can go up to EUR 85!! The parking space is spacious, clean and well lit. Access directly to the hotel lobby via elevator. Next issue is only minor but worth mentioning ... the TV channels in the room drove me crazy because it never plays what you select on the TV guide. It will say NATGEO World Travels but a comedy series will play instead.

From the very moment I stepped into the DoubleTree by Hilton at Amsterdam Centraal Station, I was welcomed with exceptional service and a heartwarming experience. The cleaning staff was not only meticulous in their duties but also incredibly courteous and friendly, making my stay feel all the more personalized.

A special highlight of my visit was the unexpected upgrade to the King Executive Suite. This pleasant surprise truly elevated my experience. My sincere appreciation goes to Annemarije Cornel, the Front Desk Officer Administrator. Her professional yet warm approach is commendable, making me feel like a valued guest, especially as a Diamond member.

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and by far the best Hilton Doubletree we have had the pleasure of staying at. We arrived around 10am wet and tired from our overseas flight and our walk from the train station in a mini storm, with horizontal rain like we have in Chicago. We were nicely greeted with warm chocolate chip cookies and kind smiles. The staff was great and to our surprise the staff was able to get us into our room immediately, allowing us to freshen up and start our day of adventure earlier than we thought. This is the cleanest and nicest doubletree we have ever seen and we have been in a lot of these properties. The views from the room were great and the bed was perfect. We never heard any outside traffic or trains, great for sleeping in. The bathroom in the room was also clean and updated. The breakfast was way above the normal U.S. type breakfast, with high end cheeses, a multitude of tasty bread and pastry options, bacon, yogurt, juices, fish, and eggs cooked to our preference. The most excellent breakfast we’ve ever experienced in a hotel, more options than I could eat during the three days of our stay. We’ve been traveling for 50 years and this was absolutely fantastic. All of the people working there were more than nice, they always went out of their way to help us, greet us and say goodbye at the end of our vacation. The bar at the top was great, fantastic drinks, music bites and views, see my pictures in the review. We give this hotel an amazing 12 out of 10 stars. The location is perfect, near the major canals, central station and many food options, including a mart next door. We were able to catch trains and trams within two blocks of the hotel. Highly recommended for U.S. travelers. They will blow you away.

Just got back today from this hotel and this is my honest review. This hotel is walking distance from Amsterdam Centraal Station which was perfect for us and is centrally located ! We arrived to see building work being started & carried none of which we were notified about! We arrived at desk check in was quick , straight up to room as we arrived late due to delayed flight unfortunately! We wanted to settle in bed for some backround noise yet 1 channel in English with no means of watching anything so tv was redundant Now i now in this day and age streaming is massive so we could not watch anything with no way of destressing after a stressful time with flight delays etc plus a hotel & chain should cater for all nationalities like you do in your other hotels.
We got in dumped our bags headed out to explore then bk to a comfy sleep! Next morning we got up early 8 am not to return until late after room to change and back out again room had not been cleaned yet. Went out again for exploring amsterdam again to be approached less than a meter for the door by a gentlemen who was trying to ask us for cigarettes and would not leave us alone we had to try walk away he followed us for a bit! Unnerved us ! Next back to room ….this is were it goes down hill! The room had NOT been cleaned, general housekeeping tasks had NOT been completed, bins not empties, surfaces filthy, carpets were covered in stains, the ‘built in fridge’ filthy, the heat coming off that is not normal, dust ever were, bed sheets ripped! Bin so dirty, mirrors dirty! Kettle covered in dust , 2 guest in rooms only enough for 1 coffee each, rooms so hot, doors banging so load as there to loose and slam shut ! I was very disappointed for £525 for 2 night and a Hilton you'd expect general cleanliness to a higher standard! The pillows did not have protecters on them either very unhygenic! We left the room again to see signs put up that All trains to airport were cancelled because of works when I enquired how we get there I was told to google it!! I merely asked for assistance instead offered us and overcharged taxi of €70 when Uber it was €37 ! No seating area when checking out because of building works ones that were there were taken by large groups waiting so we ordered our taxi so we stood outside to again be approached for a cigarette when i declined because i don't smoke the young man stood and stared then verbally abused me ! I took a step back and went closer to front door again as i felt unsafe less than 1m from front door! We left this hotel being disappointed by the staffs attitude, lack of communication to customers, basic housekeeping for guest staying more than 1 night for the Hilton brand and price i was expecting this was below par and would not stay here again unless the rectified issues in General Housekeeping, Guest Safety, Communication and Better customer service .

Fantastic location - close to all public transport and walkable into the city. The room was great and breakfast had a large variety. Employees all friendly and outgoing and delivery of Hilton diamond benefits was good.

The downsides - apparently the housekeeping staff does not check the wall mounted bottles of soaps and amenities in the bathroom to ensure they actually have any product in them. It took two days and three requests to get shower gel in our bathroom filled. We had none, it was completely empty upon check in and the next day. Also, two requests to fill the empty conditioner bottle and two requests to have a blown light replaced in the bedroom before request was fulfilled. The room is very dark and having just one bulb blown was a big impact. Also, there a sign in the bath about conserving the environment and reusing towels by hanging them up, which we did each day. The housekeeping staff still took them to wash every day. So much for being environmental.
Overall a great hotel and nice room - just a theme of needing to make multiple requests to get needed room amenities provided.

A large hotel by European standard. Location is extremely convenient as it is a 5 minutes walk to the Centraal Station with connections to almost anywhere within The Netherlands or elsewhere in Europe. It is also at where multiple tram lines start and end making travel locally a breeze. It is also where Eurostar stops to and from London and Paris.
The hotel is walking distance to most local attractions and a short east tram ride to the museums and concert hall.

Hotel staff are warm, extremely friendly and helpful. I wanted to send a letter home and they not only did the mailing for me, they also declined my offer to pay for the postage. What a contrast to a large Hilton I just left in London. The reception there simply pointed across the street and told me to buy a stamp from a vendor at twice the face value of the stamp and told me to drop the letter off myself at a mailbox around the corner.

The king room I stayed in was not large but clean, modern and functional.
There was a coffee maker, kettle and a small refrigerator.
There was only a small round table, a single chair and a round stool but adequate for a traveler or two.
Bathroom is also smallish with a walk in shower and single vanity.
Bed, sheets and comforter are all plush and first rate. Pillows are firm but very comfortable.
Large windows offer great view of the city and water. A central panel can be opened for fresh air.
Breakfast was at the main restaurant and was excellent. Eggs can be custom ordered and service was very good.
Executive Lounge on the main floor provided good warm food and sandwiches from 5-7 pm along with a variety of alcohol, draft beer and soft drinks.
All in all an excellent experience.

The hotel’s location is ideal, a few steps away from Centraal Station with easy links to Schiphol, the city centre and everywhere else in Amsterdam and the Netherlands.

This is a large DoubleTree, with a large reception. I was greeted straight away and the receptionist was pleasant and thorough during check-in. I wasn’t upgraded based on my status, despite superior rooms being available.

Out of the four customer lifts one was out of order for refurbishment works and one was dedicated solely to the new rooftop bar for a good portion of the day. Which left all hotel customers waiting for the two remaining lifts, which wasn’t ideal.

My room was on the sixth floor, half of which was being refurbished. It did feel very much like staying on a building site, as my photos show (particularly as doors to other service areas were constantly left open too). Thankfully there was no noise from the works in my room. As the room faced the railway tracks, however, every passing train could be heard – this would not work for a light sleeper, I suspect. The black-out curtains would not close fully, so there was always some light in the room too.

The room itself was in good shape, although it does need a refurb. The carpets were extensively stained, for example. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of plugs around (but no USB ones). The bathroom was in very good shape and very clean, with everything working as expected.

Breakfast was pretty extensive, although more fresh fruit would be great. Service at breakfast was really excellent – I have not been so well looked after in a while and always with a smile. Prices in the hotel bar were definitely on the high side, but again service was friendly and efficient.

A late check-out until 2pm was granted on my last day without issues.

Considering the hotel is charging over EUR200pn and often much more, there is definitely room for improvement, especially in the guest rooms and managing the building works. Overall it was a decent stay, though.

I really wanted to love this hotel because the location can't be beat. It's right next to the main train station, so it was super easy to take the train inside the airport right to the hotel and walk over to the hotel. It's also easy to walk to a lot of places in Amsterdam from the hotel or take a train/tram from the train station if you go further out. But that's were the pros end. They are renovating and instead of putting a big sign up that the lobby bar entrance is now the main entrance, they have you walk around the whole hotel only to get to the front door being closed off due to renovations and you have to walk all the way back to the lobby bar entrance. When we got to the front desk, it took quite a while to make it to the front of the line. The Hilton honors line was actually slower than the normal line. We got one of the two rooms we had booked, the other wasn't ready, no big deal. At least we thought. Well, other rooms wasn't ready until 17:30, way past their check in time. They gave us drink tickets to the breakfast place, which was a waste, because we already had free breakfast because we are Diamond/Gold members. No recognition of our status by the way. Our keys to the rooms stopped working the next day. I understood for one of our rooms, because it was two separate reservations, but the other room was one reservation for two days. We ended up stuck in the elevator because you need a working room key to use it and we had taken it up with somebody else who had swiped their key so we didn't realize our keys were not working until we got up to our floor. When you use the stairwell you end up in the employee area with no signs on how to get back out into the lobby. Our rooms were looking out onto the train tracks and you could hear the trains. In the evening they shut down one elevator just for use to the roof top bar. You need reservations to get up there, it has an amazing view and great cocktails though. For some reason, while I had made reservations for the roof top, they cancelled them saying it was closed for renovations, which it was not, another show of unorganization at this hotel. The breakfast restaurant is a little of a mess, they have two fancy coffee machines, but maybe they should just have some basic coffee pots, because the lines were insane and one constantly had no cups. One nice surprise was the dinner restaurant. There was a storm forecast one evening and we unexpectedly stayed inside the hotel for dinner. The huge windows were great for watching the storm roll in and the food was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
All in all, the hotel seems to have a lot of unexperienced staff and are trying to live off of location alone.

We booked the Hilton because it was the preferred hotel for Scenic Cruise passengers and were delighted that our room was ready at 9.30 when we left the ship. From there, it was all downhill. Our so called upgrade was to a corner room with a view of the rear of the hotel. The furnishings were a bit tired and the toilet was extremely low which is difficult for us older travellers. On the first day our room was cleaned except for the glasses which were left on the coffee table. On the second day we had to request a room clean after returning from a day’ sightseeing. Breakfast was shocking as the food in the hot buffet was cold and inedible. We thought that this was a one off until we spoke to other couples from Scenic who confirmed the cold food. The hotel is well appointed and close to Central Station. With the money we spent, we expected a river view, clean glasses and an edible breakfast. A very disappointing end to a wonderful scenic cruise.

You can start your morning with a freshly brewed coffee at our coffee store, just right at the corner of the hotel. Our rooftop bar on the 11th floor opens every day from 11 am. I know they have twin rooms, but don’t about accessible. This is a pretty modern hotel, so I would be surprised if they did not have twin accessible rooms. A quick email to them would answer your question
