After finding this lovely, small (only four suites total) boutique hotel on Trip Advisor, my wife and I booked the Rembrandt Suite for a post river trip cruise stay of four additional nights in Amsterdam so we could really take our time seeing the city sights before going home. We booked the very large and comfy Rembrandt suite since it...

Slightly outside of the bustling centre, but easily accessible by tram, lies the lovely Museum Suites. It is a short walk to the Rijksmuseum in the quiet, but upscale, Vondelpark area, where you will also find some tasty restaurants. This unassuming 18th century home (no street sign) has only four suites. Ours, (the Van Gogh) was spacious, well appointed, clean,...

We had a lot of fun and relaxing times at this hotel. Definitely worth the price if you want to be close to the museum plane and the city without having to deal with the noise of the city. It's super quiet and hidden entrance -- acts as a residential spot. The rooms are named after artists and the service...

Good alternative to host in a more familiar atmosphere. The view from the terrace into a green garden gives a relaxing feeling even if you are living in the city center. Unfortunately on Sunday most breakfast locations in the area were not open before 10 am.

We stayed for 2 nights in Feb 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the Van Gogh suite and it was beautiful. Very well equipped, immaculate and well presented. We had a stunning terrace which I imagine in the summer is even better. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and couldn't have done any more for us....

This has everything you would hope for by way of comfortable accommodation. Extremely friendly and efficient staff. Excellent location. The steep stairs, with no elevator, might have been a problem, but the taxi driver who took us from the airport carried our bags upstairs and the taxi driver who took us to the airport took our bags down from the...

A perfect private hotel to discover the city and the museums. Very nice rooms, very friendly personal. The district around the hotel is full of restaurants, cafes and small and fine shops, the perfect mixture to spend a few relaxing days in Amsterdam.

We had a wonderful stay in the "Mondriaan" room. An excellent service, in compare to other same-stared hotel this one is much more worthy. Staff was extremely kind and very worm. Strictly recommended for couples (watch the stairs, no lift, but we didn't suffer!)

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
