We (2 of us) stayed in the Van Gogh suite. It is a lovely room with a nice balcony for having breakfast. We requested our breakfast on the balcony. We were pleased that Anna Maria could accommodate us. The breakfast(which was extra-but worth it) included enough food for 4 people (croissants, breads, meats, cheeses, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea). The location...

Museum Suites is a lovely boutique hotel in the museum district of Amsterdam. Our room was quite large, especially by European standards. You can't beat the location for museums, shopping and restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel and the owner was very helpful.

Our family planned a trip to Amsterdam and decided to hire the entire hotel since we needed 4 suites. It was truly a fabulous experience, the hotel does not feel like a hotel it is truly a gorgeous residence in Willemsparkweg ,2 blocks from the Van Gogh Museum and 3 blocks from the Rijksmuseum. Its location is fantastic since it...

My wife and I spent the weekend in Museum suites (the Rembrant suite) in July. The suite was lovely, the bathroom large and airy and the attention paid to us by our hoses, Frieda and her daughter (and her baby) perfect. We had a very agreeable breakfast in their breakfast room and the location entirely suited our purposes: next to...

Thank you to Frida and her daughter Ana-Maria for making our stay in Amsterdam memorable! You were always there to answer our questions, book our special night out at the Concertgebouw, Indonesian and Dutch restaurants and delicious breakfast. Both rooms we stayed in (Vermeer and Van Gogh) were impeccably clean equipped with comfortable beds and fit with everything necessary for...

This is a great place to stay! It is situated near the major museums, and just far enough away from the touristy center of the city. There are some great restaurants in the neighborhood and beautiful streets to stroll. You are also a few blocks away from the Vonderpark. Our room was spacious with a great terrace, but no air...

This is a lovely lovely hotel. I went there together with my bf for a weekend trip to Amsterdam. Since he's a big art fan, I thought that this place could be interesting. We were a bit sceptical because we usually go to the bigger chain hotels but our fears were completely unnecessary. Museum Suites is a lovely place at...

My husband and 9 year old daughter have just spent 4 days in glorious Amsterdam and stayed at this wonderful little chic hotel just down the road from the Van Gogh Museum. Anne-Marie and her mother Frieda who own the hotel were so hospitable and helpful - assisting us with luggage, up the 3 flights of stairs to our wonderful...

We had a wonderful stay at the Museum Suites, which is in a quiet, elegant section of Amsterdam. The hotel is close to many museums and restaurants and a quick tram or bus ride to other sites in the city. We loved the unique feeling that our suite had - we stayed in the Van Gogh suite which has a...

Actually, great everything. Location, facility, staff all superb. We had breakfast once and it was way too much and too expensive. A nearby café for a coffee and a croissant was fine. You are right on the train line into town--easy. And the park is just around the corner. Also obviously a nice part of town judging by the number...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
