Clean rooms, beds are on the soft side. Bathroom ok but lack of door on shower is a catastrophe. Breakfast is decent albeit nothing special and can get really busy. The city center is a walk / bike ride away - take the free ferry across to Amsterdam Centraal.
I really liked the location of this hotel, a very pleasant Ferry ride and walk from Amsterdam Central Station. Much quieter than staying in the Central City. I was given a room with a beautiful view of the port and city. Room itself was large, especially by European standards and all the staff were friendly and accommodating. There are two grocery stores nearby, but the hotel also has a reasonably priced little market with drinks and snacks. Bar was lively and also reasonably priced. Would stay again.
Our experience was terrible, I would not recommend it. It all started with us having to wait for 20m for someone to show up to do the check-in as it was past 11 pm, then we were asked to pay for the room and taxes which we had already paid for via booking. Exhausted from our trip and arguing with the staff all we wanted was to sleep and rest, however, the surprises weren't over - when we open the bed the state we found it was not acceptable with plenty of hair left behind, small pieces of paper and dry blood on the pillowcase. We called reception and asked to switch rooms to which we were informed it wasn't possible as they were fully booked. Changing the linens wasn't available either as at that time there weren't any cleaning staff present. 10 minutes later the reception guy knocked at our door with a magically found available room that he could give us. We then went to check and it was our surprise to find this one in even worse condition with clipped nails and even more hair, so we decided to keep the original. It was absolutely disgusting, I couldn't even sleep properly and had to lay over my scarf. Luckily we were only staying one night and the next morning we made sure to present a formal complaint to the morning staff. After a lot of arguing and long waits, they offered us a 20% refund which does not even start to cover the full experience. DO NOT GO!…
This hotel is modern and has a lot of different amenities. On top of that you have a Foodmarkt next door. Breakfast is included. Beds were comfortable and the hotel was clean. Staff were very helpful and quite a few members of staff were employed so not a lot of waiting for checking in etc. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the metro station. Would definitely return.
The hotel was perfect. Very clean, vivid decoration and near to Metro station. In the restaurant we had a great meal and the Manager Kostas from very friendly and professional. I will definitely go again!!!!
I wasn’t expecting much, as I have a certain opinion about chains but booked a room nevertheless, mainly because of the affordable price. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and the professionalism of the staff. A special mention for Kostas, the restaurant manager who is a fellow Greek, he was really friendly and made sure that our dinner at the hotel restaurant was memorable. I’ll be returning to Holiday Inn on my next visit to Amsterdam!
We decided to stay here for three nights for a number of reasons: breakfast was included, the price for the holiday season was reasonable and we enjoyed staying in a Holiday Inn Express in Nashville (although both hotels are completely different). It is a massive 14 storey building situated in an industrial/residential suburb of Amsterdam. Noorderpark Station is a 9 minute walk away. In inclement weather you can catch a bus to Noord Station (M52 line). You reach the city centre in a few minutes . Public transport is excellent. Check-in is swift. We were allowed to check-in early. The reception staff were efficient and friendly. The room was quite large, well furnished and clean. We liked the fact that they supplied large containers of soap and shampoo. Not the piddley little sachets you usually get. The bed was large and comfortable. It was quiet at night (no night club when we stayed). Being able to watch BBC 1 and 2 on the TV was a bonus. Our only complaints about the room was that storage space was minimal - which seems to be the trend these days - and there was not a safe in the room, although there are free safety deposit boxes in the luggage room. Breakfast was adequate. A good choice, mainly continental. There could have been more hot choices, perhaps bacon, sausage and beans rather than sausage or beans. We ate one night in the restaurant. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The hotel only accepts cards. Across the road is a food market with a few eating outlets - pizza and Chinese. On the corner is a large Dirk supermarket. All in all, we were pleased with the hotel. If you don't mind staying slightly away from the noisy city centre, this would be fine for you. …
Stayed here 4nights, nice interior, clean hotel with little shop, breakfast is nothing special but is a good snack. First 2 nights were great.. then came Friday and Saturday with a very loud nightclub next door!!? Very loud vibrating nightclub music making it very hard to sleep. Already on from 8pm and could still hear at 2am. Picture of the 'nightclub' from the hotel corridor were our room was. At first we thought was in the room next door it was that loud!! Would not recommend if staying on a weekend it was not a relaxing night away.
View on Amsterdam In morning and evening this is perfect and favorite things. Hotel located not such in center of town but you can use easy any transportation, such Metro, tram, bus. Staff on front desk is friendly, helpful with anything you need. Every morning you will have breakfast what is good point before you plan your day In Amsterdam. Also if you don't wanna go any where by hotel is Marketplace, lovely spot with choice of food. Be ready that hotel quiet busy you will met a lot of people there, but it's good :) Room is clean, comfort, and smell good, everyday is housekeeping. Thank you Holiday inn Express for comfortable stay.
We have stayed here for 2 nights. Check-in was smooth, we were check-in within 5 minutes. Rooms are also spacious for 2 person and quite comfortable. Bathroom is also spacious and they have anti fogging mirror in bathroom which was very helpful. Breakfast spread was quite good. Only request is put green or brown dot to identify it is veg or non-veg. People having veg food (we count egg also as non-veg) can identify easily. Staff was very cooperative and ready to help. This place is around 8 to 10 minutes walking distance from noordpark metro station (M2) and there is no public transport available to reach this place. Overall hotel is good. We will come again whenever possible
