Hotel JL No76 has garnered appreciation for its cleanliness and daily room service, although there are suggestions that some rooms could use more diligent maintenance. The comfortable beds and quiet rooms with Nespresso machines are often highlighted by guests, and its proximity to museums and public transport makes its location a standout feature. While the service is generally commended for its friendliness and helpfulness, there have been occasional reports of slow service. The atmosphere is described as tranquil with modern amenities. However, opinions on the rooms and value for money are mixed, with some guests finding the rooms to be on the smaller side and questioning the cost relative to the quality of service and room features.

We visited Hotel JL No76 over valentines weekend and it was beautiful,
we arrived in Amsterdam just after 12:00 in the afternoon and walked around the city centre for the morning however we knew you could leave your bags at the hotel until check in which was at 3:00( very handy if you had more luggage/ larger bags however we only had backpacks so we were okay.)
Our room was souterrain which means it was underground but it was beautiful, we had read reviews which said the room was noisy but ours was perfect, a comfy bed and a lovely bathroom which were cleaned and changed every day, the room was just lovely!
The hotel staff were very polite we were informed of everything as we arrived and even given a map of Amsterdam to help us on our travels.
The hotel is in the perfect location with the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum being a short walk, it is away from the city centre but not too far and we found that brilliant as you could get away from all the smells of food and the coffeeshops (not to be confused with a cafe) and then wander back to the city whenever you wanted.

If there was one thing I would pick up on , is that the soap dish in the shower was slightly loose on the wall and the carpet could’ve done with a deep clean but that is all.
We booked on Expedia which meant we paid in full before we arrived however we still had to pay a €50 deposit which we got back when we checked out, not mentioned on the website however this can be used toward your city tax

Other than that the hotel was lovely and I would definitely recommend to anyone !
Thank you for a lovely stay

On arrival we were given a nice and very friendly welcome by Issam, at Reception. Throughout our stay we found him to be very professional and helpful in whatever we needed.
He is a big asset to the hotel. We also met Andre from Reception and Maria from food and beverage who were a delight and always ready to please.
The hotel is very cosy and quite centrally located within easy walking distance to the shopping centre and the tram to Dam Square is only a few minutes walk away.
Although our stay was short and the weather awful, we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt that we had made new friends. Victor and Anne Zammit Tabona- Malta 🇲🇹

We stayed here for three nights for a short holiday in COVID-19 times. Staff was really helpful and there were a lot of measures to ensure safe distancing. The location was perfect in a quiet neighbourhood right next to the museumplein with plenty of nice bars and restaurants and the city centre within walking distance, which certainly helps in avoiding public transportation. Rooms were nice and clean and I would definitely recommend the room with jacuzzi for some extra relaxing! Breakfast was served in a lunch bag in front of the door due to corona measures and was very limited. Overall, great place for a short stay in Amsterdam!

After an easy 30 minute bus journey from the airport ( no need to book a transfer) we arrived in the Museum Quarter, just next to the Rijksmuseum. The hotel was just a short walk down a quiet residential street. At reception we were greeted by Andre who was welcoming and interested in our visit, making recommendations for us. This set the tone for the visit. I can’t speak highly enough of the Dutch. Everyone we met was so friendly and polite! It was such a pleasure to be surrounded but such lovely people.
We upgraded to a deluxe room, which had the benefit of a balcony. Luckily we were blessed with some pretty nice weather for a February visit so we did enjoy sitting out there watching the world go by before heading out to explore the sights.
The location was perfect for us. The tram/train station at the end of the road made it so easy to jump on to get to those further afield attractions. We bought a 3 day travel ticket at the airport when we arrived and used this on the buses and trams for the duration of our stay. These are similar to an Oyster card where you tap in on the the bus/tram at the start of your journey and out at the end.
We didn’t have food at the hotel as we wanted to be out and about exploring and trying different places. The breakfast did look and smell delicious though! I would also highly recommend a lovely cafe/restaurant just around the corner called Blushing. The food was fantastic (and healthy - bonus!) and the decor and ambience was great.
We had 3 great nights’ sleep in hotel JL no 76, with no disturbance from other rooms. The only noise we heard was from the corridors when the staff were going about their business in the morning but it was not a problem.
If we return to Amsterdam (which I would certainly like to do as 3 days are nowhere near enough to see all that I wanted to) we would definitely want to return to this hotel. A big thumbs up!

Myself and my partner stayed here from 4-6 January 2020 and cannot recommend this hotel enough! Upon arrival at 11am I asked if we could leave our luggage behind the desk. Instead they allocated us to an upgraded room which we could access immediately instead of having to wait until the 3pm check in time.

Rooms were bright, clean and had all amenities you could need, with towels changed daily.

The hotel is located right near the museums and close to the De Pijp neighbourhood however is a little walk away from all other main attractions so it might be worth considering getting a travel card for the duration of your stay, especially if you are using public transport to get to and from the airport.

Please be aware that there is a €50 deposit to pay by card upon arrival however this is refunded at the end of your stay or you can deduct the sum for your city tax from this and they will refund the difference.

Would come back again!

Firstly the positives. The hotel is nicely designed and modern and the location for museums is perfect but that is I’m afraid where the positives end. My husband and I were only staying for one night and had we been staying for longer I would have complained about the room! The room we were given was right next to the reception and the lifts and I mean next to. See my photos. I think it was room 92 or 72 so if offered this refuse! We aren’t party til 2 am kind of people which should have been obvious when we checked in but this was the room we were given. I heard every single person arriving in the early hours of our stay so I can’t comment on comfort of beds as Mr H and I didn’t get much of a chance to sleep! The room was a very strange layout with sink at door to room and toilet in the shower. The room made me think of the rooms hotels often give people as a changing room when you’ve checked out! The floor was dirty and to top it all off the smoking area seemed to be right outside our window so we couldn’t even open window for fresh air! Staff seemed a bit clueless and there was no offer of explanation at check in about breakfast or any other amenities so have no idea what hotel offers! We received a breakfast bag some fruit, croissant and cereal bars and cake I think for a hotel offering a “4 star” experience they should have some capacity to offer cooked breakfast? I understand the corona restrictions are difficult but other hotels are managing. If space is an issue perhaps a voucher to use locally? Overall a very poor experience and would definitely not return.

Dear TravelwithMrH, First of all I would like to thank you for your stay at Hotel JL no76. I would also like to thank you for your review. It is these reviews that help us improve our service and quality. We are happy to read that you like the design of the hotel as wel as the location. The Hotel is created in typical old Amsterdam Houes which immidiatly explains the lay out of the rooms. All different and unique. I want to apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced during your stay. We offer all different room types which are all on different floors. Please know that we offer a 24-hour reception team and are always happy to find you a room more suitable for your stay. Normally we are able to offer you a breakfast buffet when you book breakfast with us for 19.95EURO per person. Which is including an a la carte menu. During the Covid-19 we are unable to offer you a breakfast buffet. This is not only because of the space in the restaurant, but also because it is not safe for you and our employees. We have decided to offer you this breakfast bag for only 5EURO per person and indeed the most of the bag is sweet. Please know that we take your feedback highly serious and I will personally speak with the reception team. Kind regards, Willemijn - Hotel Manager

Hotel is ideally situated near museums and a 30 min walk to Amsterdam Central Station. The executive upgrade for a single king bed was a great room for the extra 16 euro per day. Not a good deal for the executive double room which was tiny. We did not opt for breakfast and chose to eat every day at the Corner Bakery which was outstanding. Coffee machines in room but hotel seems stingy with supplying coffee. No cleaning service for some reason - even though many places shave doing maid services again.

Excellent hotel near the museums and good eating places. We had a comfort room on the top floor at the back of the hotel, which was more than fine if you were out and about. Our offer did not include breakfast, but you can get this at the hotel, although  the price of  this seemed expensive  given what other options were in the area.

The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels whixh were always needed as the wet room did get very wet after showers!!

The hotel has a policy of contracting you to ask for any special requests/requirements prior to your arrival. We did ask about hotel to airport transfer but the response was slow and did not answer our question. Taxi was not needed as it was very aasy to get to from the airport by public transport (bus 397, 8 stops ) and 2 mins walk.

On our arrival staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful and worked hard to make the stay enjoyable and we would definitely come to this hotel again.

Stayed here for work and it is located parallel to the main shopping street: PF Hooftstraat.

Breakfast packs were delivered to my room (due to Covid restrictions) exactly at 7:00am as per my request.

And a huge shout out to Mortis for making me feel so welcomed after an intensive 2 weeks of travelling for work.

When I next return to Amsterdam for work, I will 100% stay here again!

The hotel is beautifully situated amongst the museums and the heart of Amsterdam. The smallish bathroom was beautifully designed and had a bath, rain shower and toilet which was quite an achievement. The bed was very comfortable and had 1 item in the room I had never seen in any hotel before. It had an USA , European and UK plug all in along the wall. Very ingenious. I was upgraded to a very fine room on the 3rd floor which was a very nice "present". I can very strongly recommend the hotel and the price for all this "pampering "was fantastic
