This is a smart hotel with super friendly staff and a very nice feel about it. And but for its location and a strange desire to serve Halal food it would be five stars for me. We had a window-less room which was great, with a safe deposit box and a very comfortable bed, though not much in the way of hanging space. It does take a while to master the lights and we never worked out how to turn off the "nightlight" but this wasn't as annoying as the automatic lights in the bathroom. As an older chap I have to "go" during the night and this inevitably lit up the entire room via the famous glass toilet door, thus waking my partner. The location is great for Schiphol, just one stop away via the train and then a short walk (5-10 minutes) but it's less than ideal for visiting the centre. It would have been nice after a day seeing the sights of Amsterdam to just pop back to the hotel before heading out to eat but its around 20-30 mins on the tram, bus or train so its not that straightforward. That said it's cheap and easy to get into the centre via the number 18 bus or the tram. The surrounding area is not especially attractive and isn't an area you would spend much time but we always felt safe when walking to the various public transport options. There is a Lidl very close by which is good for snacks. The hotel food is very good and we ate there on the second evening. Breakfast is excellent but spoilt by only providing halal ham and bacon (in other words NOT bacon!)

This hotel is a little out of the way, it seems like it is surrounded by apartments of locals. It is very quiet and it is very close to the tram and the airport is easy to access with the train. The bed is excellent. The restaurant here is excellent I would highly recommend it. Staff is friendly and super helpful.

Such a nice hotel! The breakfast buffé was really good. Had the best service and serviceminded people working there. The bartender made amazing drinks and the burger was soooo good! Near to transportation to take you to the city. Comfortable beds and the room was just perfect. On sunny days your could still make it pitch black and sleep in.

We visited Amsterdam for a 3 day city break and at first looked for air BnBs but the Met was better value. We definitely made the right decision to stay here. It is placed a nice distance outside of the centre (around 30 minutes which allows you to see more of the area)but the 18 bus stops nearby and the Postjesweg metro stop is only a 5 minute walk. Public transport is excellent and cheap (21 euros for a 3 day travel card). A lot of effort has clearly been made with all aspects of the hotel and we greatly appreciated this. The rooms are a good size, smart and have an excellent shower. The restaurant was very good and we had a hearty breakfast each morning and a very nice dinner too. The bar very welcoming and a nice relaxing place to end the day. The staff were all very friendly and attentive and made us feel welcome from the first minute until we left. We would definitely stay at the Met again next time we are in Amsterdam. Many thanks to all of the staff who helped to make our trip a very enjoyable one.

Room Tip: Postjesweg metro stop is much quicker and easier to walk to than Lelylaan. The 18 bus also stops...

This is a lovely hotel with some very hard working staff and guests. They are full of energy and enthusiasm. The food is very tasty and the location is 'unusual' but interesting. It is a really quiet part of town but easy to get all over town in 30 minutes. The only downside - just watch out for the scammers operating in this hotel!

I travel a lot. First this is a very clean hotel with really great staff. It is located in a quite residential area. It is one stop (approximately 15 minutes journey time) on the train line from Schipol Airport. Note if using the ticket machines at Schipol type in Amsterdam first and click onto the "Amsterdam Lelyaan" station. It is a good 10 to 15 minute walk (I am a slow walking 60+ lady) from the station to this great hotel. It is a safe area. Handy for getting to Kurkenhoff from Schipol Airport. There are great transport links to central Amsterdam. We ate dinner twice in the hotel and the food was well presented and fair value and good quality. Great service. Breakfast was as with most hotels in Europe, a buffet style but good value and a chef is there cooking fresh hot pancakes and ensuring the buffet is replenished. The shower room has rainhead and detachable shower attachment. For me that was a big plus! Good pressure. Again very clean. There is a little kiosk area in reception that has various drinks and snacks avaiable to purchase in case you need a midnight snack. The staff were welcoming and very helpful and efficient. Peaceful at night so slept really well. Large secure luggage storage room. So we were able to check out and go for another half day into Amsterdam without having to drag our cases with us. I have to return to Amsterdam and know The Met is for me.

This is a very nice hotel with a sophisticated, modern feel. Rooms are large by European standards at this price point. Staff were all very nice and helpful. We had some great cocktails at the bar and a nice dinner at the restaurant. The main problem -- for Amsterdam tourists -- is the location. It's across the street from a vacant lot, and we didn't see anything nearby except grocery stores. Yes, the public transportation options work great, but if you like to, say, do some sightseeing, relax in your room, and do more sightseeing, that means a couple of buses/metros 4 times that day. It's about 30 minutes to Amsterdam museums and typical tourist neighborhoods by public transportation. Or uber rides of ~15 euros each depending on where you get one. Another complaint is that the toilet/shower area could use a real door instead of opaque glass. There is NO privacy or other protection from all that, including light shining from the toilet closet/sink/shower area filling the room whenever someone uses it in the night/early morning. We ended up having a great experience and felt, overall, very well served by it, but consider the location carefully in the context of what you want your days to be like (if you're a tourist) + the costs of public transport or ubers vs the price of the hotel.

Lovely hotel with a relaxing ambience, in a reasonable part of the outskirts of Amsterdam. Shops near by for those things you might have forgotten to bring with you. Friendly staff made us feel welcome, we had a great room. Clean and quiet, the room was top spec and the bed was very comfortable and a good (big) size. I would come back again and stay here without any hesitation.

We had an amazing stay in the Met Hotel. Rooms were spotless, the facilities were well-maintained, staff polite and helpful. We also had a dinner in the hotel restaurant - the food was excellent. There is very convenient public transport train (Sprinter) from the Airport (just one stop) and to the Amsterdam city centre (just two stops).
