I visited Amsterdam last year for two days and really wanted to come back and stay for a week. When I was looking on air bnb all of the locations near the central station were pretty expensive and very small. The house boat gave us a lot of room and was very comfortable. The lady who arranged our booking was...

I had made reservations for the Love Houseboat (now the “Sky” Houseboat) as a special surprise for my partner. He has often “romanced” about living on a boat and though our finances would never get us to our own private yacht, I did think we could swing 3 nights aboard the “Love” boat. I didn’t breathe a word of this...

While Amsterdam city was amazing we felt our stay on the boat wasn't good enough. The boats are left to rot and the owner cashing in. This would never pass health and safety standards in uk. Could be so good with some attention but at the moment its just shabby and seedy

Well disappointed what they advertise and what you get is totally different. The receptionist was rude, cold and patronising. The access is dark and dodgy. The boats are shabby, broken lights, filthy coverings, you can see a lot of people have been before you. So upsetting to expect so much and get so little!!!!!

Really convenient location and a real adventure to stay in this beautiful boat. You need to be agile to descend the steps and climb into the shower. Only problem was that the bed linen smelled of cigarette smoke.

Just returned back from a lovely 3 night break on Rose Houseboat. I booked this well in advance because the reviews have all been really good and thought it may get booked up early. Had lots of communication from Nina on the run up to the trip and and nothing has been a problem. Met our host Frits on check...

Spent 3 nights on the 'Music' boat with my wife and daughter. Clean, comfortable and well managed. Centrally located only 5 - 10 mins walk from the train station so very convenient. Owners were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Like Amsterdam in general, this place offers something that's a bit different. Would definitely stay on one of their boats...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

“Rose if perfect for a couple. It is recently renovated (e.g. it has floor heating, a fancy shower, etc). But its terrace is not as good as the Sunset's Sunset can host two couples. It has a large living room and two bedrooms. Terrace area has a perfect view. But the decoration is a bit older (but still very good) than the ones of Rose”
