Room was very small but wasn't fussed as we were out most of the time. Being right opposite the zoo was amazing. Very close to shops, points of interest and all types of transport. Shower was a little awkward though, had to put towels down to be sure it wouldn't flood the bathroom.

Booked the hotel via living social and Superbreaks, hotel is is convenient for the city centre being 10 minutes ride on the tram, with a tram stop within 200 yds of the hotel. Hotel was clean and the bedroom was of an average size and comfortable

nice and clean hotel, with clean but not too spacious room. The staff is very kind and helpful and the prices are good. you are situated in front of the botanic garden with some nice bar where you can have a nice breakfast. The tram station is less than 100m and bring you to the central station or to the...

The hotel is in a perfect location, close to the zoo in a fairly residential area. We stayed in a family room for four, all single beds. Whilst the rooms werent spacious, the basics were all in place. We had an issue with the rooom not being spotless on arrival but this was dealt with. The front desk staff were...

It was near to the Center, 10 mins walking. Clean and caffe gratis, but the computer in the reception was too old. The receptionist were very friendly and tried always to help with taxi... Also discount flyers available

Stayed here for 3 nights over the New Year as a group of 5 couples. The rooms were clean and modern, beds were very comfy. The bathroom was lovely and modern, we always had hot water in the shower. But the skin was tiny you are literally sitting on the toilet with the sink on your lap. The location is...

Staff really friendly cannot do enough for you, it's quite close to the main square like 10 minute tram ride 20/30 min for walk! Very clean & modern rooms. No complaints at all. Would stay here again.

I came back here in November with some friends and the service was just as good as before. Pleasantly smooth check in, and lovely stay! Even accommodating when we came back in the early hours one morning. Breakfast fantastic as always, and a highly recommend the double chocolate muffins and bacon (not together!), I definitely ate my fair share! Thank...

Nice cozy hotel. Nice rooms with 4 beds (if you are travelling with the family is a plus). The beds are extra confy and warm. Breakfast has a good selection of food. The location, although not central, it is at walking distance of all major Amsterdam atractions. When returning to amesterdam I'm sure to stay again

Stayed here for my birthday (infact, i am writing this whilst in bed at the hotel)!! The location: Quiet area, just outside of the city center, literally a minute walk to the nearest tram stop (but we have been walking everywhere as it is easy enough to find your way around). The hotel: Friendly staff on reception and free tea/coffee...

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
