The Okura hotel in Amsterdam gives you the possibility to relax when you are not working. The staff is very friendly and the food is excellent. Outside the door step the “Tram” number 12 took me every day to work avoiding the morning traffic rush.

The service and luxurious look and feel of this hotel deserves Triple AAA status. I always feel Important as from the start to the end of my stay. They take notes on what your preferences are and I'm always surprised about getting perfect attention when I arrive. Both private and business stays are a gift to myself.

Very friendly staff and excellent facilities. We stayed in a Junior Suite on the 15th Floor and had great views of Amsterdam. The hotel has several restaurants to choose from (We tried Serre which was great). The Health Club Pool and High Speed Wifi were free as we signed up to their (free) membership service.

Don't be put off, it's a beautiful property but if you're going expecting to sample a traditional Dutch stay then this is not your place. However, it's very nice regardless, typically Japanese in every way. Great rooms, stunning health club (sadly you have to pay to use it) and incredible food options for both breakfast and dinner. It's all a...

The hotel was in an area I wasn't familiar with, however it's very near public transportation. They will also arrange a taxi ride for you. My husband and I attended a work party on the premises. The room was located on the 10th floor and we had a great view of the city of Amsterdam. The room was impeccable and...

The hotel was of a very good quality, as one may expect with the associated price. Small details were thought of and that showed in the furnishing of the rooms. Automatic blinds to allow you to view the city skyline from the bath (should you wish to) and speakers to hear the music from the bathroom. Small touches which go...

Good hotel. Very professional and quiet environment Location : This should be the only minor problem I have with the hotel, with the location a bit off city centre. If you cycle, should not be a problem. Around 15-20 minutes to city centre. Rooms. Great rooms. Big and clean. Very good bathtub which included even sea salt. Service : Fantastic...

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
