I stayed here for 2 nights with my daughter. We choose it because of its location and because it looked a smart hotel with good reviews. Upon arrival, the foyer is impressive and has a modern and relaxed feel. However the receptionist could not initially find our booking. When she did find it she was quite frosty and not friendly...

I recently got married in Amsterdam, and needed a hotel room for the wedding night. Chose this hotel as it is just around the corner from my home (where we had several guests staying). The service could not have been better. Staff treated us with genuine care and attention, and kindly provided a complimentary and unexpected upgrade to a truly...

If you wish to enjoy the great Amsterdam cultural life, then this hotel locqtion is perfect, next to the Rijskmuseum and the Van Gogh museum but if you prefer a large bedroom with separate clean bathrom, then avoid the Park hotel with tiny room and a curtain to separate the lavatory and dirty toilets when we arrive in the room....

After deciding to return to Amsterdam for a second time as we couldnt fit all we wanted to visit last year into 1 trip (and will need to come back again as we love this city) - myself and my wife stayed in the leidseplein area again. Having stayed at a nearby hotel on our first trip we went for...

My wife and I thought this hotel was brilliant. Close to all the cultural spots/museums etc. The breakfast was excellent and if booked 24hrs before it is reduced. The room was excellent, bit on the small side but what the hell, bathroom arrangements a bit of an oddity as the shower/toilet is really in the main room so you have...

Hotel rooms in Europe are small - fact! So we took a Junior Suite at the Park Hotel. I'm glad we did so as even it was hardly spacious. Nonetheless this is an efficient four star business hotel. It is a mere 200 metres to the newly renovated Rijkmuseum and to that extent is a perfect location. The van Gogh...

We stayed a while ago but had a great time. The bedroom was both stylish and comfortable. The 'walk in wet room' in our superior room was small but as expected. The location is brilliant - right in the centre of the action - near the museams, the shops and a five/ten minute walk you'll find lots of lovely places...

For a reasonably expensive hotel, the Park Hotel is a bit of a let-down. The staff are very helpful and for the most part friendly. The 25 Euro charge for breakfast was way too high so I did not bother. I was attending a conference, and the conference facilities were pretty good with nice lunch and good coffee from machines...

My husband and I were first time visitors to Amsterdam and stayed here. We found it to be within easy walking distance from Centraal station and it was a great way to start our stay by walking through the city to the hotel. It's in a great location to be within walking distance to all the major attractions and areas...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
