We have just returned from a fantastic four night stay at the Best Western Dam Square. As other reviews mention, the location could not be any better, right in the city centre but tucked away in a little pedestrian area, so it was lovely and peaceful. We were checked in early by a smiley lady with dark hair and glasses...

The hotel is in an ideal location for exploring Amsterdam. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Housekeeping for my room was spotty. For 2 days there were crumbs on the floor from a snack I had and they used the vacuum on the third day. Was the Hotel short on housekeeping staff? I am on the fence about giving...

This hotel looks better online than in person, it's due for a paint and referb I think. The hotel receptionist was great and very helpful. It's in a great location and it's very easy to navigate around all the sights.

Fantastic location for everything in Amsterdam. Good sized room and well equipped facilities. Breakfast included is a good quality but basic breakfast which was very fresh. All staff very friendly and helpful. Cleaning service to the room was limited. In 4 nights sheets not changed. Toiletries replaced daily but used ones not removed. Sink never cleaned of toothpaste and shaving...

Arrived early and was allowed to check in early. Friendly staff, knowledgable staff. Stayed for 3 days. Very disappointed with my room. We had two singles pushed together, they even had separate duvets and mattresses. Not what you want valentines weekend. Breakfast was served until 10:30am was continental only, very adequate. Last time we stayed in Amsterdam we also stayed...

The staff were very helpful. Me and my colleague went to Amsterdam for a 1 night business trip and stayed here. I would use this hotel again not...

This is a very nice hotel. It is optimally located in the centre of the shopping area and close to the Central Station (a ten-minute walk). The staff is pleasant and helpful. We had our room cleaned on time and quickly. The room is well equipped; in addition we had a church view. We enjoyed filling breakfasts with a good...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
