When I stayed there by myself a few years ago, the bathroom was ok, clean sheets and lock on the door was all I needed. I fought a cockroach from picking off of my breakfast plate downstairs. In the night stand, there was a dirty sock and a small plastic bag left behind and I had the "maid" re-vacuum before...

We have just returned from another trip to Amsterdam (11th - 13th April). We are a group of English Ajax supporters and regularly pop over to Amsterdam for the matches, we also normally stay at the same hotel (the Frisco Inn). However on this occasion my friend was clicking around on the internet and came across a great deal for the...

I booked this hotel due to the huge discounts offered by some web-sites prior to reading the reviews (something I never normally do). Some of the other reviews are DREADFULL! I therefore had a sense of dread at what to expect. I have to say that the hotel is a basic hotel, but for the price we paid it was...

The Delta hotel is right on the main strip extending from the train station. It is about a 2-5 min walk to get from the platform to the hotel. It's central location is excellent if you want to pick a direction to go in each day. Dam Square is right down the street and all of the best coffeeshops are...

How on earth the dutch tourist board awarded this hotel with a three star rating is beyond me! However, the hotel is clean and the beds are relatively comfy. Its quite good value for money, but certainly dont go expecting luxury!!! Staff are average, but location is excellent.

I spent 4 nights in this Hotel for a long weekend break. Here’s the breakdown: Day 1: Checked in the Hotel late Friday Evening, There will charge of €40 deposit (refundable after when you checked out) this is because you don't trash your hotel room etc. But I understood that. So far so good. Day 2: All hotels guest get...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
