Weekend trip with a friend. We were on a budget, so this seemed ideal. Excellent location right next to the train station. We stayed in a standard double room, which was basic but decent size, clean and tidy. We never had food there but the dining area seemed nice. Staff were friendly and efficient. Overall, would recommend to anyone looking... More

We had a very nice stay. We were worried about the noise from the train but finally the hotel is very well equipped (noise proof) People at front desk were extremely friendly, specially Mr. Rico It could not have been better We will repeat for sure!

Right in the thick of the action. If you are looking for a (very) basic room that is easy to get to from the airport then this is the one for you. Expect to be woken by people stowing their bikes in the multi story bike park right next door.

Myself and my sister stayed In the Ibis hotel for 3 nights. When you get to central station the hotel is only 2 minutes across the road. This location is key and made my trip to Amsterdam this time so much more enjoyable. You are In the middle of everything! The hotel itself is superb. Staff were very friendly, rooms... More

The first room I was assigned was smaller than usua Ibis standard. the toilet was not perfectly clean. The receptionist changed my room to a 'superior' one, which was OK. It is a 'strange' hotel, where you should use 2 elevators to get to rooms in the second building. It is also expensive. All the rest is the usual ibis... More

Great location right next to the Centraal Railway Sation. We requested a room overlooking the river and it was worth it to watch the huge ships sailing past. Bedroom was very clean, well equipped, and comfortable with a great AC which was badly needed because of the hot weather during our visit. We opted for breakfast at €13.50 each if... More

Would have to have the best location in town as its literally on top of the Central Railway station. Atypical Ibis rooms, and a good breakfast buffet. My only criticism is that you cant open the windows for some fresh air.

The hotel was in a great location. A stones throw from central station and a small walk to were all the action is. Lovely clean rooms with nice beds, free wifi and a TV. The down side is we had 3 people in are room and the room wasn't that big. I enjoyed it anyway.

How fab to get off the train in Amsterdam and just walk next door, Check in and get out to see the sights. Lovely nights sleep, good breakfast. Always ended our afternoons sight seeing and evenings entertainment in the bar! Would use this place again

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
