Fairly convenient location if you're using the train or to get around the old city. Found it to be a very plastic-feeling environment but not at a plastic price. Was very surprised at the tiny size of the room, it's lack of furnishings for the most part (like travel guides, pictures on the wall, tv directory) and the one soap...

Ibis Amsterdam Centre is ideally located near Amsterdam’s central station and at the edge of the city center. It has over 300 rooms spread over 9 floors. There is a large entrance hall running out into the bar/restaurant. Bar/restaurant is rather large, still cosy. It opens after 15.30 hrs. The large breakfast room is on the 1st floor. If you...

Frendly staff, clean and good location. The room ( 722 ) was very small, no refrigerator, the bathroom ventilation was ineffective ( all the bad odors come in the room. The bathroom window can't be opened ). The air condition was blowing cold directly to our heads and nobody can control that! That's how was built all the Ibis AC...

If you're not bothered with space then you'll be quite happy here. The rooms (double) are tiny with very cramped en-suite. The bed was very comfy though and at least a king size. shower is but a trickle. the staff were helpful the prices reasonable for what you get. If you want to make tea/coffee in your room when you...

Dear TRAshton, Thank you very much for posting your thoughts on Tripadvisor. The size of the room can be considered as 'cute', which is often the case in Amsterdam. I fully understand your disappointment if you were expecting a large room. Unfortunately we can't change the size of the rooms. If you're looking for a larger room, you're more likely...

We chose to stay here for 3 nights as it's located right next to the centraal station and not far from where the conference I attended took place. It's also very easy to access all the landmarks and travel around Amsterdam. Overall it's what you can expect from Ibis.

As expected for Ibis: clean, polite staff, good room. Downside, no kettle available but I think that's standard. Positive, Burger King is directly underneath the hotel. Good location, get the 48 bus from outside the train station for about 15 minutes (tickets 2.60 euro from the driver).

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
