This hotel is in a neighborhood so there is a pretty good supermarket just down the street. It is a 15 - 20 walk to the Amsterdam Centraal train station and about a 15 - 20 minute walk to Chinatown and the Red Light District. Very convenient location. The room itself is quite small with very little closet space. The...

I had three nights at the IBIS Stopera in late August. The hotel is around 15 mins by foot from Amsterdam Central train station and in a very quiet area. The surrounding area is a mix of residential and offices, with a good sized supermarket less than five minutes away by foot as well as a local scooter hire shop....

This was our second stop at the Ibis Stopera andd was every bit as enjoyable as the first. It is a 10-15 minute stroll away from the main Dam Square and the same from the Palace Square. The hotel itself is very clean, quiet and peaceful and is equipped with en suite facilities. The rooms are excellent value for money...

Walking distance from Waterlooplein Metro Station (2 stops to Amsterdam Centraal Station). Near amenities, friendly staff (requested for room with canal view and lucky it was available!), comfy room, love the idea of having eco-frienly soaps. Overall, definitely will go back next time :)

The hotel is a little out of the centre, but only 10 mins walk from the metro, 15 mins walk from Rembrandsplein and 5 mins (€8) by taxi from Central station. The hotel is built to an Ibis formula. Rooms are OK and actually large from Amsterdam (you don't have to stand on the bed to get clothes out of...

Nice room, small but typical of European Hotels. Within 5 min. walk of tram stop. Front desk staff consistently multilingual and very nice. Breakfast buffet excellent but pricey @ 16 Euros. Nice bar and restaurant w/outdoor seating which catches the morning sun - grat for breakfast

The room was basic (no tea/coffee, no iron-there was a charge for this) but clean, of a good size and the bed was very comfortable. We had a nice view of the canal which we requested without any extra charge. Location was good- easy walking distance to Central Station and sights. Our reservation didn't include breakfast, however we found a...

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
