This place is okay. The only problems I had were: the bathroom smelled like sewage. The whole room did actually, until I realized if I closed the bathroom door I could breathe normally. That, or I just got used to the sewage smell. Also, the elevator only went up to the 4th floor, so I had to take a flight...

Had a really great stay here with my husband for our anniversary. Hotel is in an excellent location, beside a tramline that takes you directly into town and to/from the airport. Staff were extremely friendly and knew all the sights, prices and directions. Breakfast was a little hit and miss however, there wasn't a huge amount on offer and it...

I booked this hotel because I needed to be in this area, but I regularly stay in a different one in Amsterdam. That week prices were super inflated and this was the best rate I found around here (not cheap, but not a total steal). I wasn’t having any great expectations reading the reviews here. The hotel was more or...

We stayed here for one night, the room we had was a triple, though we had booked a double, it was 60 euros. Very good value at that price. It is near to Museumplein and concertgebouw. The room was lovely, clean, comfy beds, quiet, nice view, warm, nothing could have been better. The breakfast was tasty, but chaotic. They need...

We went there with a group of friends. It was very good, quite central, there's a bus stop right in front of it, a couple of stops away from a plaza full of bars, shops, coffee shops, ... The guys at the reception were very nice and helpful. We were surprised as how the rooms were very clean and big,...

A terrible smell pervades through the hotel. The rooms are poorly cleaned and are tired looking. I can't believe that they charge €120 for a room..it is not worth €20 a night. Do not stay here.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
