Booked through my travel agent as a last minute solution. Expectations was not very high due to the low price downtown Amsterdam.
Nice looking interior but it had some years on its back. I got a small (very!!) room but good enough for a sleep...More
We booked the Junior Suite a few weeks ahead, and I paid on check in. They didn't have the suite available and gave us a small loft room with a nice bath, saying it's better than the suite. Still charging for the suite.
Good location, friendly staff, excellent breakfast! Our room had a beautiful view over the park and nice big windows. The room was clean and the bathroom good. Short distance to the museums and to public transport.

Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping
destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.

Regarding transportation to and from the airport, we used Bus#197 which is easily caught right outside the airport doors. It drops you off about a 7 minute walk from the hotel (about 5 blocks). Very convenient.
