I'm glad to say that this hotel is beyond my expectations, but this perception is only possible for people that make it happen, courtesy and attention to small details makes my stay very pleasant and enjoyable. Location and in house services are perfect, I would like to recognize Mr. Roy and Jerome who are the first contact with this nice...

Rob and Jerome facing customers in the main entrance with courtesy and high attention to all details is a good start, front desk, resto, chefs and the good people behind the room turn down, all details are covered and my stay...

We were delighted to be upgraded to a junior suite, and the whole experience was remarkable. The staff in reception were very attentive. When I said that I liked the baubles on the Christmas tree I was given a complementary one! The room was fabulous and my sports massage in the spa was excellent. We were the only diners in...

We had a great stay., thank you! The location is unbeatable for a weekend trip to Amsterdam. The hotel is beautiful in and outside. The design is an interesting mix of very classic with modern touches. This is a comfortable five-star hotel, not like those stuffy places where you are afraid of actually relaxing. The breakfast is worth it just...

Dear guest, It is a pleasure to read on Tripadvisor that you enjoyed your stay and that you liked the hotel and its design. We thank you for your feedback about the breakfast buffet, as it is indeed possible, besides the buffet, to just choose something a la carte. For some guests that might be preferable. In case you would...

Another "must" in the city. This is a great hotel: very nice product and outstanding service. Breakfast could be improved but the view to the canal is lovely. Location is good to get to museums and main tourist attractions, however there are other 5 star properties closer to the central station. In any case, next time I am in AMS...

Overall the hotel offered a nice view on the canal and great location. Dinner at the Brasserie was very good and had great service. I was not too impressed, however, with the quality of the room. The accommodations seem to be in need of an update. I also agree with a previous reviewer regarding lighting in the room. We had...

This hotel scores full marks for service. It has a first class gym and spa but there is a major flaw with the lighting in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
