We stayed in a 3 person room as we were not sure what to expect for a first time Hostel experience. Our room was on the "4th" floor (which is really the sixth floor). Be ready for stairs!!! Steep stairs!!! The showers were clean and large, but the toilet is in a closet (very small) but functional. The staff were...

They are always helpful. The toilet is cleaned only once in the morning :( The stairs are steep and No Elevator!!! In order to go to...

We stayed here for two nights and that was certainly enough! It was loud all the time the music never stopped. The bathroom was so tiny and there was no where to hang stuff. And a guy peed on a bed while we were there, such a weird experience. We stayed in a hotel the rest of our stay in...

Great hostel with good location, Vondel Park is so pretty, perfect for the summertime! The bar offers good opportunities to meet fellow travellers and the staff are really nice. I'd especially like to mention Slaven, Ben and Steve, they each helped us in different ways and went above and beyond what I'd normally expect from hostel staff.. Thanks guys!

Stayed here with a friend for 3 nights. Location was uptown and great. 5 minutes walk to the Vincent Van Gogh and other museums. Great bars and restaurants at about a 10 minute walk. Staff were helpful and fun loving. The only thing I could point out to other travellers is that they dont have an elevator. We were at...

Hi there, Thank you so much for leaving this nice review :) It makes us very happy to know you had such a good time with us! The flying pig is a nice colorful clean and warm cheap hostel in Amsterdam. Perfect if you prefer uptown to the chaotic downtown. The best place to stay for young people who want to have some fun and see the most beautiful places of the city. Nice rooms and people

Only stayed for a night but would definitely recommend! Quite expensive for a dorm room but the bar is really cool and the room itself was really clean and comfortable! Be prepared for a lot of "peace and love" talk and loads of people in dreads

It's not the cheapest but it was by far worth paying a small bit extra. A great location, close to everything but still a quiet area, we had a balcony over the street and there is nothing but a large park outside. Still a great party atmosphere downstairs and a nice communal smoking room. Staff very friendly. The best part...

Hi there, Thanks a lot for leaving this nice review :) Makes us very happy to read this and to know you had such a good time with us! We thought we had booked downtown but actually booked uptown. We were a little angry with ourselves thinking we would be way outside the centre, but it was all for the best. Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
