Stayed in Jan 2017 and we had a great weekend here. Jumped of the train and hotel was located right in front of the station and the shops/restaurants just around the corner from the hotel. Breakfast was average but can't complain mixture of some hot food (eggs, beans) the rest cold ham/bread/cereal/fruit etc. Staff friendly and helpful, tv was broke...

I stayed here with a friend in September 2016 and I have to say the location is amazing. If you are getting dropped off and picked up by the DFDS coach then the location is only down the road from the hotel. We found the hotel easy to find and was opposite central station. This was brilliant when we needed...

We were 3 guys and stayed in this hotel for 5 days on NYE. The room was large and clean, and the staff was ok. Only thing that was bad, is that there was a mouse in our room. The location of the hotel was very nice. Close to Zeedijk (RLD) and Amsterdam centraal station (train). There were many restaurants...

The hotel has an excellent location and very friendly staff. It did not have a minibar and even no water to drink in the room. The view of Amsterdam Centraal was excellent, day and night. No international channels on tv. Cleanness was poor. Good heating of the room. Not recommended for families to stay here. The breakfast was very good....

I got a very good price too. The wi-fi was free but could be temperamental at times. has a lift, I would advise using as the...

The reviews sounded good. But this a place to stay only if you are needing basic (and tired) accommodation. I look for a few things as judgement for accommodation. Bed - old and lumpy with blanket and sheet Pillow - lumps of 'stuff' we're not enjoyed Bathroom - thin towels Heating - a plug in radiator There are better (both...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
