Stayed for 3 nights with our 16 year old daughters. We stayed in a family room which was great. The hotel is very clean and quiet, and in a beautiful neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again... So nice to go to the Van Gogh museum for a couple of hours, then be back up in the room in about...

This is second time we stayed at this nice little 3 star. It cannot be beaten for location. One block from the Van Gogh Museum, The Modern Art Museum (Stadelijk), multiple tram lines, 2 blocks from the Rijksmuseum and Concertgebouw, 10 good cafe's within 5 minute walk. The rooms are excellently cleaned daily, good breakfast, wonderfully nice staff. Our beds...

Lovely clean family run hotel in two joined typical Dutch houses. Very friendly and helpful staff, and a block from the Tram to the Centraal Station, and the bus to and from the airport. Also: in a good quiet neighbourhood close to the big three museums, and very safe. I loved everything about it. Breakfast was good help yourself style....

Stayed for a long weekend for my partners birthday at the beginning of March and found Hotel Aalders to be faultless for our requirements. Had booked a small double room but were given a very spacious room at the rear of the hotel on the top floor (we thought perhaps the best room in the hotel) where it was extremely...

We recently stayed 4 nights at the Hotel Aalders and really enjoyed it very much. It was very conveniently located in the Museums Quarter, very close to Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum, etc. Also, if going by foot or light rail to the city center, is very convenient from here. Can definitely recommend it! Also a very good breakfast...

This hotel was awesome. Perfect location for going to the museums, and there are tons of restaurants and bars around the museum quarter. The room itself was so clean, and really nice for the size. The hotel staff were all friendly, and the breakfast was great. My husband and I would stay again if and when we visit Amsterdam again.

I came to this hotel with friends as part of a university field trip, it was really good value for money, our room was beautiful, breakfast was great, the location was perfect, staff were so friendly and gave us a lot of great recommendations for things to do. Honestly I have no complaints the whole trip couldn't have been better.

I chose this hotel for its connections to public transport and quiet location. Bus #197 from airport (get off at Rijksmuseum stop) was frequent (5 euros each) and easy from outside airport terminal. Then only a 5 minute walk to hotel. We felt safe walking back to hotel each night from the tram stop when we caught #2 or 5...

3 nights in a big room clean nice for 4p, streetview but nice, 2 king size beds, good breakfast, close to museums (2mn) and center, royal palace (dam square) 25mn. I let my car for 1€ per day in P+R olympisch stadium, but you have to take the tramway (line 16), really easy and best way.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
