I picked a winner on this one! Great location close to Museumplein. Easy to get too and within walking distance of the canals and trams. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was small but well appointed and spotless. Stairs are narrow and elevator small so it might not be a good choice for elderly travelers or people...

What a disappointment. The fact that one is asked to pay on arrival, unlike any other hotel we have ever been in, should have made us suspicious. We had asked for a room on the 1st floor and reminded them a few days before of our request and they said they will do their best, but when we arrived we...

Nice quiet neighborhood. Van Gogh museum and Rijksmuseum nearby. Staff helpful with sightseeing tips. Room was a little small, but ok for single traveler. Breakfast was good: pastries, cereal, lots of coffees, juice, cheese and sliced meats. Good hotel for short (3 night) stay.

We stayed only one night, but received excellent service. When the desk staff learned that we had a very early flight in the morning, we were offered breakfast at 4:30 am. We awoke to fresh coffee and a hearty breakfast which started our long travel day off on the right foot. Combined with a spacious, clean, comfortable room & a...

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. People were friendly, polite, and willing to help. They provided good suggestions to our questions. The hotel was clean and the room service was fine. The breafast was nice, the breakfast room was confortable and the attending person was always friendly. One thing I will suggest is that the cleaning person leave a...

Dear TravelersFromMiami, Thank you very much for your kind words about our hotel. We are happy to read that the three of you had a good time and that our location was satisfying during your stay. The hotel is working hard to make sure that we become "summer-proof". Last year we installed several airconditionings in our rooms and this year...

Very kind and efficient staff. The room was clean, large, with an access to a small garden. The location is awesome, near the Rijksmuseum and Museumplein. The breakfast was good and there's nothing else to write that we should come back to this hotel when we come back to Amsterdam !

My wife and I stayed at the hotel in April for a weekend away together. We booked the trip without realising that it was Kings Weekend in Amsterdam. When we arrived at the hotel, the staff were very helpful with the check-in process was very smooth. They explained how the weekend would be organised and gave us lots of good...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
