This hotel is in a great location on a canal, within easy walking distance of the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum. The breakfast room, where a great breakfast buffet is served, is at street level and looks out onto the street. The upper floors are accessed by very steep stairs ( here is no elevator) so if you are challenged by that request the lower floor.
Stayed here for 2 nights in August. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was small but had everything i needed, shower good and fan available. No tea and coffee facilities in the room but variety of coffee, hot choc and tea available in lounge along with biscuits and sweets. Breakfast excellent with good variety. Only thing to note is no lift and stairs are narrow and steep but then if you stay in a building like this you expect it. Good location to all the sites. Bus from airport stops on street behind the hotel very handy. Could be the R26 Supermarket and cafes just at end of street. One last thing they are not that keen on cards when you are out and about. A lot of places only took Maestro or cash. Would definitely stay here again
I had a brilliant stay in Amsterdam! The room was exactly what I needed, the location was perfect for exploring, the staff were lovely and the free breakfast is a great bonus. Would definitely recommend! I felt very safe here as a solo traveller. Thank you very much!
cute small hotel with great view of canal, friendly, good location and clean.there is no elevator and the stairs are narrow and curve as you go up.the room was good size and had good view, clean and comfortable. bathroom was fine. breakfast was good and the room had a view to enjoy all the people and canal.
Stayed here recently. The hotel was located in very central location. They offered a room for 3 people which is what I needed. The rooms were fair sized, not the cleanest bathroom which needed a few updates. Breakfast was sufficient.
Delightful, comfortable, friendly, excellent breakfast and comfy beds.Authentic, original, vintage 2 star hotel. Excellent location. Highly recommended. Comfortable lounge area. Free drinks and biscuits.
Fabulous hotel with a cosy lounge and nice breakfast room, both full of antiques. The hotel is in a great location and free hot drinks are available throughout your stay. The breakfast consisted of ham, cheese, boiled eggs, yogurts, cereal, bread, fruit and croissants. Lovely room over looking the canal, great views, friendly staff and around a 20 minute walk to the main train station. The number 397 bus goes from the airport and stops fairly near to the hotel and takes around 30 minutes. The fare was around 6 euros and they only take card payments. If you don’t enjoy climbing too many stairs then be warned that the stairs are very steep and narrow at this hotel.
Wonderful two star hotel worthy of many more stars. Location was excellent, (6 minute walk from the bus station with direct access to airport) staff were helpful and friendly, hotel clean and inviting, beds extremely comfortable. The breakfast offered a good deal of choice in a lovely setting. Decor was quirky and in keeping with the Amsterdam property. A good, fair price. I would definitely rebook the same hotel if I were to come back to Amsterdam. A great find. Travelled as a group of four ladies, all of us of the same opinion, extremely pleased with our choice of accommodation. If you are considering this hotel, you will not be disappointed.
Very good location, in the walking distance to the main places. The room was large, bright and with a beautiful view. The breakfast was good, the warm drinks and snacks in the lobby all day. Very good and helpful staff, especially Doris, receptionist. I can recommend this hotel to everybody.
The rooms were clean, location is reasonable (7m walk to nearest tram) and neighborhood is quiet at night. Breakfast was reasonable, breads/ham/cheeses/cereal/... typical stuff My biggest dissatisfaction was that they are very inflexible during check in - most places would allow you early checkin if the room is ready. We arrived at 2:10pm (checkin is at 3pm) and they immediately told us the room was not ready (without even asking for a name). There were about 3 families waiting. Suddenly, at 2:50, all rooms became "ready" (again, without asking our names, the clerk informed us the room was ready). Clearly they just did not want let people in early, who knows why. On the plus side, appreciate their offer to store luggage If you have an early transatlantic flight that typically arrives in the early morning, pick another place, they are likely to get you in much before the afternoon check in.…
