Tribe Amsterdam City hotel garners commendation for its clean, modern rooms, with guests enjoying comfortable beds despite some remarks on room size and design. The hotel's strategic location near the metro is popular among guests looking for easy city access while enjoying a quiet atmosphere. While the varied breakfast delights many, a few guests have suggested improvements like complimentary water and in-room menus. The hotel's cleanliness and chic decor contribute to a pleasant ambiance, and the service staff's friendliness and attentiveness are often highlighted, although some find extras to be on the pricier side.

First things first. It is a little out of town on paper. In the Northern district in reality due to it's next door neighbour or two being The Metro Nord station.
I found the Amsterdam Metro to be clean and easy to use. So a great way to get around the City. Amsterdam Central 10Mins, Museum District 15mins, Schipol Airport 35mins.

When a hotel describes its location as "up and coming" I have reservations. But none here, very clean and safe street and as I said easy to use Metro.

If you want to check out my Video review of the hotel, showing the public rooms, breakfast and my bedroom in detail. Go to my channel, Link in the Bio on here or YouTube SomeBloke Who Travels a Lot.

Location is good what about the people. Very friendly and very welcoming both at reception and at the bar.
I got the feeling the team here were happy and proud of the hotel which is a very good thing.

The hotel is modern, open plan bar area, though cleverly designed to be more boutique like than airport lounge ( you can see what I mean on my YT video )

One note there is no restaurant in the hotel. Although there is a restaurant area where a full 4 star breakfast buffet is served and it is good, every option available. There is no formal or even informal dining area.
There is a choice of 4 pizzas served from the bar, so if you have forgotten to eat you wont starve. But it is Amsterdam there are an abundance of dining options nearby.
There is also a snack kiosk inside the hotel and also a very modern convenience store over the road ( quite a bit cheaper )
So essentials to take up to your room not a problem.

My room was great. The hotel is mid range 4 star. But the bed was 5 star and everything felt quality.
Full ensuite shower, mini bar, USB ports and its modern so we have the USB C ports, fast broadband. Tea and Coffee and a fridge with complimentary water.

No my booking in July 2022 The price of the Tribe was less than the Ibis in the centre. So those 5/10 mins on the Metro was a small price to pay.

Obviously I recommend it, but if you want to be sure go and check out my video review.

At the time of booking we were a little hesitant because it was a new hotel, there were not a lot of photos or reviews, but we decided to go on anyways and the stay exceeded our expectations.
It is so easy to get to the hotel, 2 stops from Centraal Station on the subway - which is much easier if you carry luggage - and a 1-minute walk to the lobby, all very accessible with ramps and lifts. The area does not have a lot of restaurants or stores, but there are 2 markets right next to the hotel that served us well for a coffee or a quick snack.
As the hotel is new everything is very modern and nicely decorated, they also have a charming bar for drinks on the first floor. The room was great, we were 3 people and 4 luggage but it didn`t feel crowded at all. We had a coffee machine and capsules at our disposal as well as mineral water. The beds were very comfortable, even the sofa bed was cozy, and the bathroom was incredible, very spacious, and had the best shower I`ve seen in hotels.
Also important to note that the room was generally very adapted for people with disabilities or older guests.
We did have a small problem with the TV at night that the front desk could not solve, they were lovely and offered to change our room but we decided to wait for technical support and on the next morning it was all fixed. The hotel staff in general was very helpful and friendly throughout our stay.
I highly recommend this hotel, even though it is not a hotspot for shopping and dining it is very easy and quick to reach the city center, and the quality of the stay is really worth it.

This hotel is perfect for a stay in Amsterdam! The location of it is great as the metro station is a 2 second walk on the same street which takes you straight into the centre in less than 5 mins! The interior of the hotel is gorgeous, very modern and is very clean and tidy. We had a queen size room which was perfect for me and my fiancé! The bed was very very comfy!!! The room has all amenities needed such as hairdryer, iron, fridge, kettle etc. on each room is a little board that you can change to day if you don’t want to be disturbed, or if you wanted your room cleaned. This was very useful! We never ate in the hotel so can’t comment on their food etc but the restaurant looked very vibrant and it smelled good! On check out we were able to leave our luggage in their bag hold to come back for later. I would highly recommend staying here and I will definitely be booking this hotel next time I go back!

The hotel itself is nice, very great aesthetics but the experience of the hotel is very budget, i personally wouldn’t normally go for this as a choice of place to stay, but it was a group booking and this was the best option for the group. I’ll start with the negatives to get them out of the way and then i’ll state the positives at the end. The rooms are quite a walk away from reception, so you if you have alot of luggage, you’ll be walking quite abit. The cleaners didn't change the sheets once during the stay and they were dirty, my pillow was dirty upon arrival, i left it to be cleaned and it was instead flipped over and put towards the back. There were fruit flies in the restaurant area so you wont be able to enjoy your pizza (which is the only food they sell) as you’ll constantly be battling with flies, however you don't see flies during breakfast. The toilet in the room had a strong stench which wasn’t great as the windows in the room were locked, so we couldn’t even air it out.

Now for the positives. The hotel is a 30second walk from the nearest metro and only 4stops away from amsterdam centraal station. There are shops nearby where you can buy snacks, and toiletries. The hotel has nice spaces where you can sit and chill. They also gave my friend some birthday waffles and balloons in the room which was nice

The hotel is new and the design and decoration is amazing! The staff is friendly as well and our room was clean and cozy.

But for the rate we paid, my expectations were higher. The mirror in the bathroom was simply only decoration. There is no chance to do your make-up there, because it was 1m far away and hang so high, that it was impossible to use it. Luckily, there is another mirror in the bed room. You cannot open any windows, which would have been great, as 3 people shared the room.
The breakfast is really "average" only, I was missing more fresh cutted fruits and vegetables and fresh juice (there was only a vending machine, which is containing syrup and water).
Some staff at the bar are totally overloaded and not even familiar with any sorts of drink. We ordered "Rose" and he/she needed to check each and every wine bottle, while a bunch of people were waiting for their orders or to order something at all. I had the feeling that this person never worked at a bar before (which is not his/her fault, more a management thing). There is no box to leave your keys for check-out, you still need to give it someone at the reception, which makes the "online check-out" pretty useless for me.

I would stay in there again, but not for the rate we paid.

I booked a room with queen bed for 4 nights for my stay in Amsterdam. Location in Noord is perfect- straight one stop ride to Centraal station makes this convenient and barely 2 mins walk to the Noord station is great.

Room is nice and simply done. Modern bathroom. Shower makes a sound when you use it and can be heard in the bedroom which is annoying if your companion is asleep and you take a shower.

However, the room has teething issues. For instance, annoying blue light emmanating from the air conditioning/heating control made it difficult to sleep. We spoke to reception and stuck paper on it to block out the light.

Secondly, when we checked in, there was no toothpaste/ toiletries so we had to go to reception the next day to get it. While we got this, it took a good 20 mins to get this so overall slow service.

We also pre-checked in online but still waited 20 mins to check in on the day which was not ideal after a long journey.

Water bottles in the room are not replaced daily so had to ask for this one the first two days and then it was done automatically.

the lighting in the room was dim- it seemed one fitting was not complete so it was annoying to change at night in the dim lights.

This hotel feels new because every member of the staff is extremely focused on check in with you and making sure that you are having a good experience. Everyone was really attentive and helpful and the difference was noticed.

The setup is a little unusual because you come in the front door and that's the lobby where you check in. They want to see everyone's passport/ID. Then you go up the stairs or one set of elevators, and you walk through the bar/restaurant area to get to the stairs/elevators to the rooms. It wasn't a problem, but I can see it being a little challenging with you have a lot of luggage to move in or out.

I had a little bit of trouble arriving at this hotel by car. Note that the street that it's on is a one-way street. There is a place in front that you can pause while you check in but the staff did warn that they do sweeps so you don't want to leave the car there for too long.

Because I'm in Accor's ALL program, I had a free beer at check in for each person in my room. That was nice to enjoy with nuts.

The room has a refrigerator which is helpful and I loved the pump bottles of soap and shampoo in the bathroom. Not actually the pump bottles themselves, but the products, which smelled so great and were great quality products.

I would stay again because the hotel is great and very convenient to the train station to get into the city.

A great modern hotel just outside the Centre of Amsterdam. Easily reached by Metro. The station next to the hotel and 2 stops to the centre. By a day card which can use on Metro, bus, tram 8.50euros

The hotel staff are really friendly. Always available if you need anything.

The rooms are a good size. A comfortable bed, large screen TV, a Nespresso machine, kettle, fridge, iron, hairdryer all what you need.

The bathroom has a large modern rain shower and all shampoos etc.

There is a bar and gym area. We didn’t use but again staff always chatting to you.

There is a local small supermarket next to station which is reasonably priced.

Nice gentle people at the reception, clean complete room, acceptabel prices, payable parking places nearby and the metrostation takes only a 3 minutes walk. From this metrostation "Noord" it takes only 4 minutes straight to the centre of Amsterdam and 6 minutes to the famous "Rijksmuseum" with the Nachtwacht (Nightwatch) of Rembrandt. You can perfectly explore Amsterdam from this hotel !!!

We arrived at midnight to the most arrogant staff ever! Didn’t tell us breakfast time or explain their services. I asked for parking but their parking lot was full. So we parked elsewhere, at a 5 minute walk. We asked 3 different staff members if we could park at the hotel the day after and got 3 different answers. Then, we got a room which was already occupied but someone else (her/his valuables were displayed, lucky him/her we are honest people). Got a second room… guess what? Bed wasn’t made. Asked for someone to come make it but no one came, so we asked for sheets and made it ourselves (after the staff member laught and commented something with his colleague). Breakfast is basic, not worth it. As the city center is at a 5 minute distance by metro, I suggest finding a nice spot to have breakfast there. There’s no phone in the room, so if you order take away, you’ll have to wait at the reception. All in all, only the location and design are a plus.

I am not sure about breakfast, but you can get a 24 hour pass or pay per ride and pay via card and you can use Apple/Google pay at the turnstile as well. I did the 24 hour pass as it was more economical for me.

AMS airport to Tribe by UBER is around 40€. If you have a daily flight, the best option is to go from the Airport to AMS Centrall and over there you only have to take the Metro 52 to Noord. Tribe is literally around the corner from Noord station. On the train station’s machines you can buy the Metro card and you can also use it for the tram around the city. I paid 23€ for a 72hr card. Really easy to do!

Email the hotel and they will tell you. That's what I did and had no problems. I would suggest that you decide what kind of transportation pass you want to buy before you arrive to the airport.
