From the moment we arrived the staff where friendly and helpful. We waited in the smoking lounge while waiting for check in enjoying the view over the canal and met some lovely people. The wifi was excellent and really fast. The showers were small but clean and I got mine the perfect temperature easily. The beds where really comfy and...

Stayed here over the weekend for 1 night in a group of 3 on a trip to Amsterdam to meet up with some American crumpet we’d met back in London the week before. This place was only meant to be a contingency plan in case we couldn’t sneak into the girls hostel, and at £11 a night it didn’t matter...

The hostel is very well located, in a very noisy place, shouts and laughs can be heard all night, as late as 4 AM, the rooms and toilettes are very small, you can not move in them at all, the attendants very nice people, now is in construction works and they start at 8 AM, so you start falling sleep...

This hostel is great... the location is not the very best, but get a tram and you will be on the dam square quickly. good price, beds and others, I would definetly get back to this hostel. It is nearby rijkmuseum and heineken... the neighbour has plenty of restaurants so if you want to avoid the red ligjt and be...

I stayed with 2 friends in an 8 bed mixed dorm for 4 nights and I do not recommend. I've stayed in a lot of hostels and this has got to be one of my least favourite. The rooms are pretty cramped, but we were expecting that, and they were at least reasonably clean and there were lockers on one...

The rooms are pretty basic, as to be expected but every time someone rolls over in bed the entire two bunk beds squeak. There are between 6 to 8 beds per room and some rooms allow smoking inside which means that if you're not a smoker they smell gross. There are not enough power sockets in the walls (about 4...

Steep staircase, small and not so clean toilettes (common for boys and girls), smell of weed everywhere, quite dark rooms, no secure place to leave the luggage at the last day of our stay.Price was quite expensive for the facilities. On the other side, great location, comfortable beds.

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
