The few positive aspects: the position in the city and the human quality of all the receptionists. Otherwise, the hotel is far more expensive than a 3 (real) star hotel on the French Riviera, does not offer any conditions of a 3 star hotel, with modern standards. The walls are too thin, so you know exactly what neighbors talk about...

my mother and I passed two nights in a double room and had a great time at asterisk hotel. especially the breakfast is amazing! everything is new renovated and clean. except from the pillows (little bit too big) everything was just perfect. you can reach everything easily by walk (15 min from amsterdam centre) or by tram (line 16). we...

Amsterdam seems to be priced a little like London, based on my experience. You get very little for your money. We paid €250 for two nights in mid July. The room was very small and had a single bed. The bathroom was small, but clean and modern, with a great wet-room shower. You'd probably have to spend at least €150...

I was shocked to hear this hotel was 3 stars. I thought this hotel was brilliant value for the money we paid, nice rooms, lovely staff who are happy to help, good quality breakfast, great location too, really recommend you stay here for your trip to amsterdam.

The staff and owners of this hotel made us feel very welcome and were very accommodating. It is on a quiet street very close to the major museums, 5 minutes (2 blocks walk) to #16 tram connecting to the railway station and center of town. Breakfast was superior. Fresh fruit, cheese’s, sliced meats, yogurts, a variety of breads, cereals, and...

we had an excellent stay in Hotel Asterisk! first of all, this hotel accepts a "standard" booking, sending a detailed mail to the hotel with your complete coordinates, this makes you liaise directly with the hotel, which is more "human" than booking websites. We paid 110€/night (from 30 may to 3rd june) for the small double room, a good price...

Lovely hotel in a quiet street. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room very clean and in good condition. So why the "but...?" My wife and I were part of a group of 10, but couldn't get away on the same day as the rest of the group, so only stayed 2 nights. However, the hotel insisted on charging us for...

Stayed there for 3 nights, loved everything about this little but beautiful hotel. Located in a quiet part of the city, a few minutes walk from The Heineken Experience, the tram stop and the Rembrandt square. Very convenient. The room is big, we took a twin standard. The bathroom is spacious, really bright rooms. The bed was really comfortable, enough...
