Is not really cheap this Hostel. Has a poor internet connection, is an old building, hasn't elevator (we stayed on the 4th floor and the stairs are as a pyramid... was a nightmare). Well, I don't recommend this place.

Pros: Great location, towels included, clean linens, clean toilet, mirror in the room Cons: room too small for 6 people luggage, steps to access the bedrooms incredible small, the shower could be better.

Had great stay here, only few things didn't like, I was on the fourth floor & having asthma I had to stop a lot on the stairs (which were narrow). But the hotel was quiet, very warm and clean rooms. Would stay again but on first floor

This hotel is the worst hotel I have ever dealt with in terms of management and customer service. I made a booking in June for my brothers 21st birthday present. I emailed the hotel regarding the pre-authorisation policy they have on credit cards due to my brother paying with cash on arrival. I was assured that they would not pre-authorise... More

I stayed at the hotel Mevlana with a friend of mine in an 8 bed mixed dormitory. We are used to bigger and mixed dormitries so we know what we signed up for but the conditions in this hotel were just disgusting. First of all our room was located in what seemed like the basement of the hotel - there... More

The location is good. Not right in the hottest but not far. It is just another hostel. Nothing special with very small rooms and a lot of beds on them. One bathroom for at least 10 or more people. There is just one common area wich is also a restaurant.

I'll set the seen, I was impressed with the location of the hostel, as a first time visitor to Amsterdam I wanted something that was local. this really is nestled in amongst it all. being a 2 min walk from the red light district, 5 min walk from Anne Frank. however as much as location is great be warned however... Ideal location, just off Dam square. Staff we are very friendly and the waffles downstairs were great! Room was clean and had all the necessities. Shared bathroom was also fine apart from the wait on some mornings. The only problems were that we were on the top floor and there was no lift so we were out of breath every... More

The staff are very friendly. Room was ready for 11am instead of two which was perfect as we arrived early. Very clean hostel. The rooms were reasonably sized and clean. The bathroom and shower are shared facility's so you do need to be up relatively early to get in before it is busy! The stairs are very steep but that... More

Family run hotel, 3 minute walk to Dam Square. 10 minute walk from station. Close to all local attractions. Room was clean with view of main street, en suite was clean, sky TV in rooms.Only down side was no tea making facilities or room safe. This hotel is not suitable for anyone with mobility problems as the stairs are typical... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
