Said it all in the title really, we stayed in a four bed shared dorm, everyone was really friendly, the staff were very accommodating, Don't be put off by the fact that the hostel is above what appears to be a Chinese restaurant! The rooms are clean and comfortable, although perhaps a little noisy. We knew Amsterdam already so I...

Reception open 24 hours so wasn't a problem that my flight was delayed and I couldn't check in till about midnight. Easy walk from the Centraal Station and felt safe in the area by myself at night. Rooms are pretty small with a shared bathroom but everything was clean and tidy. Only thing is it was really hot! Just needed...

We stayed there for five nights with my girlfriend in a shared room with a shared bathroom, despite being so small, it was clean and neat to stay also pretty cheap. It's right in the centre of Amsterdam. don' need any hospitality as they serve everything you already need.

Extremely close to Dam Square and Centraal station. Rooms fairly clean although a bit small for 8 people sharing. Friendly staff. Very cheap - worked out around 25 euros a night. Cheap drinks from cafe below. Ideal place to stay for someone wanting to visit Amsterdam cheaply.

This hostel is situated very central to Amsterdam Dam Square and about 10 minute walk from Central Station. Trams stop right outside the hostel to venture around Amsterdam. One member of staff at a time is at the reception area where they have a pool table and Cold Drinks/Snacks on display. Rooms are clean and polite staff with helpful

It is located in the heart of city, it had a great location. It was also really close to the central line which we used almost every day. Didn't have to worry about random drunks coming in and making noise because they compared i.d.s to a guest list at the door. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to have...

My best friend and I (two females) went on a 3 day trip to Amsterdam and even the first night in that "Hotel" were almost unbearable. We were in an 8 bed room and everything was really cramped, the beds were not even 30 cm away from each other, in the morning the smell was super bad because the room...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
