This is hotel is near the major museums and it's a nice part of Amsterdam to stay if you want to be near the centre but not in the centre. I had a third floor room which had good views, plenty of light and plenty...More
This is a small hotel in a lovely area of Amsterdam. It was great being beside Vondelpark for walks. Staff were efficient and friendly. Public transport (trams) are a short walk away. There is a supermarket within walking distance and also close to museums e.g....More
Ordinary small hotel near the Vondelpark, of which there are no views from the ground or second floor. Rooms described as deluxe seemed standard. breakfast seemed expensive, so we went out. not one to return to.
Stayed 2 nights with Madame Fastand. It's 2 minutes from a tram stop and the lovely Vondelpark. Also very handy for the Concertgebouw which was the purpose of our visit.

Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping
destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
